Ingway 4 Posted July 11, 2012 The music is really nice in the way that actually sounds intense and desperate, fitting the game's situation, but outside from that i always turn it off to avoid not hearing someone that might be coming from my back or a possible zombie around me.Got curious tough, since some people don't mind the music getting in the way, so how many of you actually play with the music turned on?
Disgraced 1123 Posted July 11, 2012 I turn it off and try for every sound related advantage. My hearing is not the best, so I use my headset, and not my speakers, and I only have in game sounds. I wouldn't mind having the music, but if I missed something, I'd be pretty pissed.
Gauche 1 Posted July 11, 2012 The first thing I did was turn the music off. It's a nice soundtrack, but takes away from the experience. Plus, I'm too used to games that cue off music so everytime it starts up, I can't help but freak out thinking something is about to maul me.
Andrej Dudev 50 Posted July 11, 2012 The music is really good but I was forced to disable it because I also need to hear the sounds of the game.
xJakeyy 6 Posted July 11, 2012 I usually have the music on, but turned to the bare minimum that I can hear it. I feel it adds even more immersion to the game that it already has, making me absolutely shiver when the music comes on when I'm doing something risky. deviantdigi 22 Posted July 11, 2012 I don't play any PC game with the music on.
Casualblue 2 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) off... got to hear dem footsteps / far off gun shotsI don't play any PC game with the music on.odd Edited July 11, 2012 by Casualblue
robonator 6 Posted July 11, 2012 The music is really annoying after some time so i turned it off... and i need to hear as good as i can. Hearing the footsteps saved my life several times ^^
protossmaster 10 Posted July 11, 2012 i turn off the in game background music + my music when i enter towns and hot spots. You need to hear foot steps.. you can tell if it is a player or a ex-local easily by how fast the foot steps are.
idunc 62 Posted July 11, 2012 I don't like having the music on. It takes away from the realism, and it's just another thing that hinders my hearing in the game.
deltron3o3o 29 Posted July 11, 2012 off like in every PC[multi-player] game i've played
sandorski 17 Posted July 11, 2012 The first thing I turned off was the music. Hearing is just as important as seeing in this game. OTOH, I have sometimes played GTA and Saints Row just because I wanted to listen to the Radio. :D
clever 12 Posted July 11, 2012 Turning it off is usually for the best, it's more immersive without music blaring in your ears and you'll actually be able to hear.
Deuzerre 64 Posted July 11, 2012 Off.Because it made me annoyed everytime it popped on for no reason. And it stayed off as I could hear stuff much better that way. Probably saved me a few times, and helped localise snipers/zeds.This game forces you to hear and listen a lot. And suddely "BAM" from no were comes a music/sound. heresy 5 Posted July 11, 2012 Not really into crippling one of my senses. There's been another thread asking which music do (if) we listen to while playing DayZ. Well, if you do, you're the guy that I can slide my barrel up his ass while he's enjoying his joyous Lionel Richie tunes f***ing the ground Trainspotting-style.
