  1. But an insane amount of servers don't keep track of vehicles (and tents) when restarting, probably because of ignorant admins not updating the hive. It is extremely annoying.

Poll: DayZ or The War Z?

Hmm, the DayZ team better start working on a standalone soon, because WarZ definitely looks better and is promising a bucketload of features. Don't get me wrong and with all due respect to Rocket and the community involved in it, but if BIS doesn't start thinking big and grabbing the opportunity soon, "clones" will surpass it by miles. Invest in the idea and develop it as soon as possible and get the shit together or else we might just see this genre get ported elsewhere and in a couple years time nobody's gonna remember who and what really started it all. As said, utmost respect to DayZ, but ffs start expanding the team and get some money into it soon, please. The gaming industry is a business first and foremost, you can't hope to keep manhandling the competition just with the concept alone.

    Pending Update: Build 1.7.2.4

Or 10 seconds standing, screaming, waving hands around like a madman and dancing a fucking Russian polka. Come on, 5 seconds is great and I'm sure it's going to help immenselly. After that it can always be tweaked.

    Needing graphical performance enhancement

Try loading DayZ onto a Ramdisk. There's a nice video on Youtube explaining it by Oshiseven.
  6. Unfortunately not all the torrent hosts are proper. The main link on the download page is the 1.7.2. data. The SE, UK and US mirror servers host the proper 1.7.2.3. torrent. Be aware of that.
  7. So noone else notices the torrent link isn't 1.7.2.3? We're going to get another massive f**kup. The files in the torrent are from the original 1.7.2. Even checked filesizes and all through the torrent client. It's the old patch!
  8. The torrent link isn't 1.7.2.3. It's 1.7.2.

    Experimental 1.7.2.1 test patch

Well, fps issues are notable, but it's getting better with every patch, including the latest. It does help however immensely, even if you own an SSD, to load the DayZ mod folder in your memory either using Ramdisk or Imdisk.
  10. Not really into crippling one of my senses. There's been another thread asking which music do (if) we listen to while playing DayZ. Well, if you do, you're the guy that I can slide my barrel up his ass while he's enjoying his joyous Lionel Richie tunes f***ing the ground Trainspotting-style.
  11. Threw together a pretty hilarious, for us at least, video about a bunch of idiots wreaking havoc in the NW airfield with an off-road pickup truck. Being chased by a bunch of extremely horny zombies not caring if we get shot in the face was highly entertaining. Here's the link: Give it a go if you have spare time and thanks for watching. We had a great time up there. p.s.: The adventure ended with us getting rammed in the buttola by a couple of hacking lowlifes after the server suddenly restarted and changed to regular and daylight. Two players in gillie suits spawned on us (the only ones on server by the way), killed us, stole the vehicle and drove off. It was whoopingly fun nonetheless, I'm afraid.
  12. Abusive admins on server GJ1 restarted the server today, July 2nd at around 3AM CET, while three of us where driving around the NW airport and stopped at the west barracks. They restarted the server, set it to expert (no 3D), switched from night to daylight, spawned right on us after the server came back up, killed us and stole our vehicle. It was blatantly evident it was an admin abuse, because the only people left on the server (after we came back) were these two (one admin named Flipflop and another one called Ginge) and the three of us (H, O'nil and Shrooms). Before the forced restart there was noone at that location. By changing the server rules (especially turning to daylight and no-3D) and spawning right outside the barracks they evidently abused admin privileges (in other words cheated) with the intention to steal the vehicle (a white pickup truck). I don't know if anything can be done regarding the issue, but I felt like writing it down and posting on the forums about the actions taken by the admins, so other players can steer clear from these two and avoid the server GJ1.

    Pending Update: Build 1.7.2

I understand technically a mod developer is not expected or forced to release information about updates, since we, the players, are not direct customers of the mod, but a moral obligation to the hundreds of thousands of Arma 2 CO buyers is indeed present, so please, Rocket, pop us an ETA on the development's next phase or at least tell us the crack. Having said that, hope all is well. We appreciate your work.

    Pending Update: Build 1.7.2

I don't know if it was mentioned already, but a bug (possibly intended) that I'm experiencing sometimes is a rather common occurence that makes your character make a couple steps forward before going into prone position. Sometimes this means plummeting off of roofs and hunting stands.

    Pending Hotfix: Build 1.7.1.5

Honestly the packing to toolbelt of the flashlight and hatchet is an unoptimal way to solve the issue. You would still need additional slots for your primary or secondary weapon when you unpack both "tools". For example: A character carries a Winchester, a Makarov, toolbelt flashlights and hatchet and his 10-slot coyote bag is full of various shit (beans, bandages, flares...). When he unpacks his hatchet, he needs TEN slots to unequip his Winchester and put it in the bag to make room for the hatchet. Same applies for the flashlight with the handgun. He would need those 10 slots free at all times to be able to switch between hatchet and rifle if he wants to freely use both (and be mobile across the map - otherwise he would need to free bag space to store rifle/handgun). What's the point? Unpacking tools conflicts with space availability to store same category equipment. Please rethink the changes.
