That's what I figured. Thanks for input. Its funny, as long as I've been playing I've never run into anyone hacking (or at least I didn't know it) and I've never seen these "ammo boxes" or other crazy stuff I've heard about. I don't think I've ever had a situation where someone disconnected on me. Guess I'm just lucky?

Anyone been in an actual gunfight? I've been playing almost since the beginning and had my first one yesterday. We both probably emptied two or three rifle mags at each other. We both lived as far as I know. If was in the woods so after taking cover we lost sight of each other. I know I hit him though. It was lots of fun, I'm just curious how rare gunfights are though since my experience so far has been mostly one guy getting the jump on another. Anyone got any OK Corral type stories?

Was coming out of the tower in Balota just yesterday and I see this guy hauling ass down the runway with the biggest group of Z I've ever seen at once. It was hilarious until half of them broke off and started chasing me...

I agree with you OP in the sense that these idiots on here snipe people just to frustrate players and then rationalize it by saying "it's an apocalypse". I've been sniped only one time in a month though, so actually I've heard it talked about on these forums way more than I've seen it. But while I agree with you that being a dick by sniping people for no reason is stupid and not realistic, you have just alter your strategy and not let it bother you. I totally love every aspect of the PvP personally, and I've been careful, and even gone after these snipers myself. In fact, they are the best way to get great gear. They do all the work for you rounding it up, and if you can find their position from paying attention when they shoot they're loud ass guns, you can walk up behind them and headshot them with a makarov or a crossbow if you're skilled/lucky.

The first thing I did was turn the music off. It's a nice soundtrack, but takes away from the experience. Plus, I'm too used to games that cue off music so everytime it starts up, I can't help but freak out thinking something is about to maul me.

That's too bad if rocket has to get rid of brand names. I think it's quite fun having something like mountain dew. It's not extremely beneficial but is famous because it is rare, and I don't know whether people actually have traded it but theoretically it is the perfect currency because of its rarity.

Just hang in there. You'll figure it out. Remember, when being chased run into buildings (since they can only walk there). Have you found a weapon yet? Once you do all that dying before will make your discovery of a weapon that much sweeter. Trust me, once you figure out where to find stuff after spawning and get a feel for how to avoid zombies you'll start to have fun.

Update.... I drank the mountain dew :s. after you guys saying how rare it was I was so sad to do it. But I was dying. As dumb as it sounds, I could not find any drinks for the life of me. I had a canteen but it glitches out of my inventory or something. I waited till I was actually bleeding out from thirst but had to do it after that. To celebrate drinking it, I ran ass naked through a field screaming " this is how we dew " to lure about 10 zombies into a barn and hack them to pieces with my dew strength.

I haven't seen issue or any threads made about it before. I was in some town in the middle of the map and got overwhelmed by zombies. They broke my legs, knocked me out, and killed me in a few seconds. So I respawned like normal in the same server and came back right near where I died. Full health, all my gear, and everything. When I turned around I saw a body with an Alice pack and it was mine! Had all my gear on it too. So basically I died, respawned, and came back in the same spot with double the gear because I looted my own body. Has anyone seen this before or had this happen to them?

Cherno was full of good stuff today. Found some Mountain Dew. I assume it's the same other soda (quenches thirst) but I've never seen it before, always finding coke and pepsi. Anyone else seen this? Anything special about it?
