Homeschooliazon 87 Posted February 16, 2022 I read that a DayZ movie is coming. What are your thoughts?
Homeschooliazon 87 Posted February 16, 2022 (edited) Most Videogame movies have nothing to do with the actualy game and are terrible cash grabs. I expect them to make 28 days later but in Czech Republic pretty much. This does not do DAyZ justice. What I want to see is an absolute insane movie where you are constantly thinking what the hell is this movie. If it wants to be "DayZ: The Movie" it NEEDS: Genocide squads without any remorse who laugh at suffering, glitches, Inhuman gesticulations and roles who speak terrible english, many people not valueing their lives: for example unarmed people charging a heavily armed gang with sticks, people dying from all kinds of ridiculous stuff like drinking disinfectant, gasoline, eating raw human meat for no reason, people accidentally poisoning themselves, people crashing cars all the time, people trying to do really silly things like opening a new church or a shop, telepathy, cringy "roleplayer" actors who are the only sane acting but extremely akwardly behaving people, Noob roles who can't complete the most simple of tasks, everyone being way too relaxed about the apocalypse, people who constantly sprint, and the list goes on and on! 😜 Edited February 16, 2022 by Homeschooliazon
lemmac 101 Posted February 16, 2022 A movie that starts with a crazy and frantic, edge of the seat battle for survival, then by half hour in becomes increasingly monotonous until by the end all the main characters have committed suicide from boredom? Sounds great 🤣
WOLVERlNES 135 Posted February 25, 2022 (edited) I heard about this from a DayZ YouTube channel. I’m stoked, production is set to begin Jan 2023. This short trailer for PS4 launch amps me up every-time! If the feature film gets the tone of this promo video, I think it has potential. Which should draw-in more players to start playing DayZ IMO. -Cheers Edited February 25, 2022 by RussianReavers

Maybe one of the greatest WTF comedies of all time.
Parazight 1599 Posted March 7, 2022 I hope that the main character is Vin Diesel and I hope that he gets killed by a zed that teleported through the wall while he was afk in a house.

Maybe one of the greatest WTF comedies of all time. Truth. In all fairness, DayZ has better chances of succeeding as a videogame adaptation than most - thanks to the lack of story. As long as they stay true to the theme and feel of DayZ they can make the story about pretty much anything they want without offending lore purists. With decent production values and a well constructed story about the struggles of any random survivors trying to exist in the world of DayZ, it could be a good film. Players will probably be happy with some nods here and there to typical DayZ occurences. Cannibalism, lunatics yelling "FRIENDLY!" when chasing you with a shovel, wanton murder, motohelmet mumbling, and of course smacking someone in the face with a can of beans. For those who haven't seen it I can recommend season two of "Black Summer" on Netflix, that one had me grinning and thinking "this is very DayZ" several times each episode. First season is also good but that is about the outbreak itself. Edited March 8, 2022 by Derleth 1
Tonyeh 454 Posted March 12, 2022 Yeh, +1 for Black Summer. Probably the best thing zombie that I've seen in ages. Even if they are the run around types and not Romero ones. But there were times that it did feel quite like DayZ. As to an actual DayZ movie, you're correct. The writers have everywhere to go with it because there is no story. What will happen, though, is what happened with WWZ. It'll just be a name rape. A popular title used to sell something that will absolutely nothing to do with the original item.
