1.15 XML DeSpawn Rates?

Recommended Posts

Searching for decay times for items since 1.15 update. I haven’t played since mid 2020 and I know things are different now and have yet to find info.

Anyone have access to list?

I once left a AK 74 with some mags on a deer stand at around 5 AM and it was still there when I came back from work some 12 hours later.

Most items have a lifetime of between 1 and 4 hours, with base items and containers instead lasting several weeks. When a server is empty the CE goes into hibernation and pauses the lifetime calculations (to save resources), which would explain that the AK74 had not despawned.

@ OP: The full "list" is in the server files, the types.xml. There you can see the lifetime of every item in seconds.

That server is literally never empty, even at 4 am local time there are few people loitering, but it might have been low pop until after work time.

You download the dedicated server files for DayZ from Steam. There are no public server files for console however, but the core economy files are the same on all platforms so you can study the xmls for PC anyway.

Yeah, I used to have cues when I ran a server, but canceled my server after a year. I want to see decay times fir stashes, barrels, teddy bears, tents and traps. Plus other things as well. Can anyone copy the default types.xml for 1.15?

Barrels and crates are 45 days, buried crates or bags are two weeks. Traps are a week.

Is it possible to customize a server so that a day lasts 24 hours and NOTHING despawns? ...Or is there like some kinda necessary reason for things to magically disappear in this game lol? 😅

...Only way you should be able to "despawn" something is in a FIREPLACE lmao. 🤣

Steam is basically like if Skynet and the Matrix had a baby.  In order for the system to operate cleanly, the Steam sends magical, time travelling agents to vaporize items that aren't near anyone, so that 'glitches' (deja-vu like events) are limited.  This is the reason why the infected can never be observed to despawn and why cars fly.  Sure, it looks like a complicated series of 1s and 0s, but it's actually these future robots roaming around undetected, lazer-beaming items to change from pristine to badly damaged, etc.  Technically, you can acquire the server files but it's very dangerous.  The big dildo that inserts into the back of your head is only located at the top of the Green Mountain radio tower.  It's very, very difficult to climb that thing.  But it IS possible.  Remember, in Chernarus, there are no spoons.

EDIT: 😀👨‍✈️🤩🤖🤧

Yeah, I’ve had that happen too, I think posts with external links are reviewed by mods before content goes public.

I’ll check back to see if we can see the content. Thanks much btw.
