Rocket, please implement a dynamic sound mod into DayZ. Video included.

Recommended Posts

Video showcasing the difference: http://youtu.be/TwWA65BCLGQ

Guns in vanilla DayZ have literally no echo and no reverb. This makes them feel a bit underpowered and one dimensional.

Dynamic sound mod used: @HARCP also known as DSS (Dynamic Sound System) puts real environmental effects on rifle shots and has virtually no impact on your FPS. @JSRS mod used in video for the better rifle sounds. Echoes, reverb and environmental effects provided by @HARCP.

I would pay money to see this mod (or even JSRS) implemented in DayZ<3

I agree that it makes the guns sound much better, but the fact is that there are much bigger bugs to be taken care of first :)

Couldn't Rocket just ask permission to include these mods in DayZ and simply copy paste the mods into the mod directory as the soundmods are already working perfectly? I have no idea how modding in ARMA works though, I'm just guessing :)

Even though I rather some bugs be taken care of first, I would like to see this in the future.

Since ArmA III is on the horizon, I'd say worry about audio after the mod moves to the new engine.

Aren't ARMA3 set for release in 2013? Watched an interview that said it was...:(

All it needs is the server keys added to servers. Easy addition.

sounds like this mod will only attrackt more zed's to gunfire, esp in cities... also sounds a bit 'over done' for some reason, but then what do i know, we have very strick gunlaws in my country so the only bangs i know come from firecrackers, these do not produce such a loud echo though! (hence the mention of 'overdone')
