Do you play on a PS4 Pro? It seems to be mostly happening to people on the older systems, and it happens at random. You can be alone, fighting zombies, driving, building, sitting still etc etc. I play on a private server only, and this happens to all of us not on the Pro.

I play on an Xbox1X and still hit bugs on an hourly basis. Inventory vanishing, getting stuck in crates, cars glitching, having to relog, it's not the hardware that's the issue, it's the game in general, it's just as buggy as a beta and at this point I don't think anyone is expecting the game to ever run properly. It feels like there a small group of modders working on the game in their spare time progress is that bad. Just got to roll with it.

I have a private server that 3 ppl play on tops! We got 4 large military tents to store things in! However every time we log off for the night we get on the next days all items in the tent are gone! Our fire pits are gone everything! Our game crashes several times every time we play! I’ve died twice due to the blue screen during combat with a zombie! I love this game but getting frustrated! Can’t build bases because they disappear overnight, can’t store extra items because they disappear, get killed due to being kicked from game, etc! This game is awesome but at the same time a complete mess! Let me know what we can do to preserve our items and bases we work hard to build! Tired of losing hours of gaming overnight! Makes you not want to play the game anymore!

As much as some may not want to hear it, I think a good part of the problem is the fact that console updates are tied to PC updates.  They add new features and content to PC and then apply it to us.  The thing is, they have to spend the time trying to make sure these new things work on the console updates and I have a feeling that it leaves them very little time to devote to squashing these persistent bugs, optimizing performance, etc.  ....and to add insult to injury, with every new update there seems to be new bugs added to the old.

Once they realize that they need to put the brakes on content for console and devote an update or two to purely working on optimization / bug squashing, I fear this game will always feel like a beta.

No. Why they shouldn't of given the 1.00 then......don't think?

Did PS4 Players not get a free trial to play before purchasing?

PS4 doesn't have a an equivalent to XB1's Game Preview where consumers can buy works-in-progress.    ....so no, the only time PS4 players were actually able to get their hands on the game on this console was when BI released it as a "finished" product.  There was also no demo.

Having said that there have been other games that released on PS4 with components that were not ready for full release like RDO that came a month after RDR2's release.    .....GW in GRW, etc.

I said it before but I'm not going to claim ignorance of DayZ's turbulent history.  I've been following it off and on since before it became a stand alone product.  What I will say is that I was encouraged by the more recent progress and drive to get the game back on track.  ....and yeah, I did buy into their more recent commitments before and after the PS4 release.

....but unfortunately, with every new update comes new bugs while some of the most persistent of the old ones remain.  ....or in some cases are made worse.  When they announced the sale of physical copies and then a DLC, that was when I realized bug squashing really isn't the priority they made it out to be. Fixes are few and far between with most coming in the updates rather than hotfixes.  ....and then again, we usually end up with more issues than we had before and the big ones are left untouched.

If BI simply communicated more with their customers it would go a long way to quelling a lot of this frustration and anger.

....btw, looks like they moved this thread back from the basement to the general forum.

I don't think it would make a difference if they communicated more. Console gamers have always been spoilt by the lack of bugs in games as they used to be released on cartridges without internet connectivity.

With the modern age, we've moved closer to PC games. Unfortunately the gamers themselves haven't. They still expect polished games. It was never going to happen.

Instead of looking for a demo, gamers should do some research on a game beforehand. I knew it would be buggy, why are so many others so surprised ?

Maybe not for you but for a lot of us who have been asking for more, open communication it would.

I'm not even going to get into the other remarks as I find them dismissive but I'll say this.....

Look, I'm glad you're not experiencing a lot of the same problems as some of us and/or are perfectly content with the bugs that you do.  ......using workarounds or simply putting up with them.  However, that doesn't mean that others like myself don't have legitimate complaints about the game or BI.  Many have asked for more communication so we know what they are working on and what their plans are to rectify some of these issues (or if they can at all).

The fact is that DayZ is very buggy experience for many of us.  I'm used to issues with games as most have them but not on this level.  There is no other game out there on PS4 that I've played where I have had to relog 1-5 times a session, experienced as many game-breaking bugs that are allowed to persist this long after launch, have as many crashes, die as many times due to glitches / bugs, etc. than with DayZ.

With that out of the way, I'm more concerned about what BI thinks and what they intend to do because that is what really matters most to me.  After all, they are the only ones who can fix their game.

It would make a lot of us Console players happy if you guys just wipe the servers that way loot will actually spawn in. Cause M4s,AKs,LARs and etc... don't bloody spawn at the air fileds or in military barracks anymore the only time you wanna get that high grade of equipment is from heli crashes and sometimes you only find fking clothes. This is the cause of the assholes who duped the living shit out of them when duping was a thing. Honestly please just wipe the servers

Hopefully someone in Bl who actually cares about their customers and supporters opinions sees this.

This is a very interesting view, I disagree.

Would you go to a restaurant and order a meal and only get the bare minimal of what you ordered for the fullest price they could charge imaginable , And barely be able to eat it and accept that as a service?

This isn't a charity, its a business. Plenty of early access games are at the lowest Playable to some degree. Don't talk about people wanting a polished game, This game worked in june and the fact is the game over time has degradedated, Game population reflects that.

Comments, like your enables them to keep do whatever they want.

I honestly don't see why you have problem about my comments. I never said there were no bugs and never dismissed them as not evident. Quite a lot ot misinterpretation going on there!

I said I expected it to be buggy, as did anyone who followed the development cycle right up to version 1.0. I was surprised it was even released when it was, it seemed to come out of the blue when the game didn't seem fit for sale.

But hey, it's all just opinion. My opinion is the game is more playable now than ever. Since yesterday's update I've not blue screened once. I haven't needed to relog once, everything for me works. That's not me dismissing anyone, that's my experience. I'm sorry my game isn't broke like yours, but that's not my problem.

Regarding them communicating more, I don't think it would help matters as the person representing the developer would be swamped with issues. Issues are better posted and addressed by the developer without making promises on the forum. All companies do this, i don't see why BI would be any different.

Well, according to some, duping is still a thing.  Regardless, there is only a finite amount of spawns for items on each server so at some point, things will start to become more and more scarce if people are allowed to hoard as they are.  I guess my point is that it seems to me that wiping the servers is at best a temporary solution.  Maybe they should establish certain servers that are wiped at set intervals?

I've been playing since the game released for PS4. So far, I've found one M4-A1, one KA-M, one VSD, and one LAR. All were at crash sites. This game is being built back up from the ground floor since the engine changed. With each update, there are improvements and unexpected flaws to fix from new content additions. I paid money for a game I couldn't wait to play. That money was in good faith to a process that is far from over, which should hopefully be obvious to all those with complaints. People that have been playing since before version 1.00 might be sick of Chernarus map by now, so I get why they did a DLC before completing other features.

I've found lots of guns now, too many to count, but sadly they're always either in another players stash or on someone I've shot.

For me, duping isn't breaking the game at the moment. I'm still able to find decent weapons by those other means, just making the game stable would keep me happy. Since this patch the other day, the sea looks dreadful and the game is more jerky than before the patch.

I do agree BI should probably invest more I'm bug fixes rather than DLC.

I've been playing since the release on PS4 as well.  Initially, the game was decent in regard to loot, etc. and the community in general IME.  However, it wasn't long before it became more of a "shoot on sight" experience which is fine.  I can play that way too although the commadriere was kind of nice between survivors just getting used to the game.  ......but then loot also started to become scarce especially the more desirable weapons and gear.  I spent more of my time dodging more geared players and just surviving.  ......which may have been more fun had it not been for a lot of the bugs we had to deal with as well.

When the community servers came online, I started playing on them and less on the official ones.  Now I've been playing exclusively on private servers where passwords are required including my own where the owners have more control (e.g. server restarts/reinstalls, ROE, etc.).  I've been having a blast since then with the exception of the (of course) persistent bugs many folks complain about.

I thought the loot was broken on my home server too, but I found the M4 at heli site Nov 1.  I don't grind for guns, I like to dwell in the city and go heli hunting now and then. I like specialized gear for different regions and missions on the map, so I've definitely a small arsenal. The KA-M is long gone, and so is my LAR, the former on a dead character, the latter to thieves when server hopping was still a thing. These guns are just rare, like ten per server, the LAR is even rarer at 4, and what's even more lame is I never got to shoot mine once!! I've died lots of times, and have experienced the bugs my friends. One time, I killed a zed and the knife got stuck in my hand as a player emerged. I couldn't switch to weapons for protection, but luckily they never spotted me. I was irate because I would have probably died had the other survivor been aggressive. Naturally, shaving allowed me to sheath my knife, how stupid of me!

Yeah the KoS types are a drag. Still decent people left out there though. In recent months, it's been 50-50 in my encounters with other survivors. I just love the visceral feel when you spot another player. I don't hunt men (in DayZ), but have recently considered it for sport to be honest, because I haven't seen another survivor in a long time, just abandoned bases, shit is really desolate. AI will never move or respond to stress the way human-controlled characters do. Even if I did decide to hunt someone, I'd probably try to make it psychological by letting them know over a mega phone or maybe a walkie talkie placed in a location they would be. This game is everything CoD and BF isn't, so I wouldn't shoot ya in the face when I saw ya Kean, unless you were torturing bambis.

Any way, I'm really not expecting this game to feel legit from a programming standpoint for another year or so on ps4, but I really like the idea of the game and enjoy playing.
