Fresh Spawned 4 No Reason!?

I played for several hours last night, build a safe house, locked it up then went into a shed and logged out.

There were no players or zombies nearby, I just hopped on and I’m a fresh spawn for no reason — wtf!?

I didn’t have my hands bound that I’m aware of, knowing that will kill you if you log off.

No idea why I fresh spawned, has this happened to others? 

@ImpulZ please inform devs players are dying when logging off, was indoors with door closed, not in combat nor injured when logging out.

Was on private server and when it reset I logged back in only to find myself in the beach goodbye VSD

...that you know of.

Your character remains on the server for a short time after you log off.  If someone was nearby and watching you, he may have followed you into the shed and killed you before your character had vanished.  On your client, it was a log off.  On the server, it was a death.

I'm not saying for certain this is what happened to you, but from watching several streamers on Twitch play DayZ, I've seen times in the past where one streamer kills another in this way, so one had video showing him logging out and the other video of killing the character standing there idle.

In the old days if you logged out even in doors when wolves were around you would die.

But that’s why we have that 15s countdown for... I sat there until it hit 0 and went to main menu.

They would had had to like 1 shot me immediately after 15s timer and I would have heard them running towards me as I was logging right?

There's some seriously messed up bugs with logging in.  My brother was driving an ADA and was hit with a random(?) restart on an official public server.  He logged back in only to find himself miles away standing on top of someone's OLGA.   The OLGA had two other players in it and proceeded to restrain my bro, but anyway, yea.  Relogged back in on top of someone else's car.  Amazing.

I was driving my Gunter, server reset, I spawned back like .5miles from where car ended up, which was more accurate to my position than my body was on reset.
