Can't pick up Zombie Backpack

Anyone else having trouble trying to pick up zombie's items?  like the backpack or hat.  Seems pointless for them to add this feature if we cant even take the zombies backpack after we kill them

You need empty hands and then drag and drop the item into your hands

With empty hands... 

Go to inventory, select and hold the item with the A button, then use RB to move it to your hands. Just like moving any item around your inventory. 

Drag and drop was just an expression. 

"Click hold A and bumper across" didn't have the same ring to it!

Too many people have very poor listening/reading and comprehension skills.

You'd think the internet would make people smarter instead it's the opposite.

Hold A on zombie item.

RB/LB over to empty hands.

Release A.

It obviously helps if the zombie is dead first though.

Are you saying my listening reading and comprehension skills are poor?

The ingame instructions aren't very clear as it says "Press A" to move to hands, so that's what I was doing, and it wasn't working, even with empty hands

I will try tonight and HOLD a and press RB.  Thanks for answering my question even tho it felt a bit insulting when I'm just asking for help

Hopefully you get that looting-off-zombies issue resolved.  It's pretty straight forward.

Press and hold A. Keep held in, press RB to move to hands. Then release A. Bit clearer.
