Deadzone to high

Recommended Posts

The deadzone is and has always been to high for the anolog sticks on Dayz Xbox. No game I've seen has had a deadzone this high, Im always over correcting and not confident in my ability to shoot well. Im suspicious theres other things involved (besides input lag) that make it harder to aim, as an example its hard to consistently maintain a speed while aiming, it feels like if i push my right analog stick down a wanted amount its impossible to keep it steady because its picking up miniscule movement and translating to big movement. I just thought, it's like the max input threshold is to low and deadzone to high, leading to a confined area of sensitivity that makes for jumpy aim. Im crazy for my sensitivity as i bet most are, so having a deadzone threshold slider would be great... Even increasing the max input threshold to the proper value of the analog stick would do wonders.

We need inner/outer dead zone sliders. Freelook sensitivity , TPP sensitivity, FPP sensitivity and sensitivity settings for all scopes magnifications too. Plus being able to control the ramp up speeds for both sticks. vigor which is made by Bohemia & will be free to play when it goes live also for xbox has so many controller settings & unfortunately all we get on dayz is vert/horizontal sensitivity. Feels bad man

it's quite underwhelming, surprising even, at the moment. we shouldn't be discussing about an important core-element like this in the first place.

The truth about this issue is that it stems from the exact same problem PUBG has in its birth - The movement and aiming system has been directly ported over from Mouse and Keyboard input and is now being used by a controller. This is why even on Xbox players look and feel janky and clunky like an old PC game. It took a while for PUBG to actually get true 100% analog aiming and movement input to use with the Xbox controller and it was updated in a patch post-release. Bohemia is going to have to do the same thing to DayZ and this is why the aiming is so rough with the sticks especially in ADS - the game is expecting precision mouse movements but the game code isn’t getting that input from the DPI and the analog sticks on the controller.
