Buggy - xbox s

Recommended Posts

Hi people, I'm new and i have really been enjoying the game. Slight issue though in that every life it will start to bug out. I could understand if this was the occasional life but every life seems a bit strange? I'm running it on the Xbox s and dayZ is stored on an external drive and I'm wondering if it would make a difference if i moved on to the internal drive instead? Any help is greatly received.

Kind regards

Donny

Hi,

Its stutters as I'm playing the game then freezes for a few 2nds, this usually ends in death if there are zombies around. Also the sound sometimes goes out of sync,  Its like its trying to catch up?

Kind regards

Donny

i run on an Xbox x so i wouldn't know but when i had the og the game was unplayable (awhile ago when the game ran really bad on x aswell). I would change to 720p or atleast turn off recordings (i have recordings off) could help. Maybe make sure your on the servers in your timezone. Also always make sure you have no other apps open, im sure thats not the problem but it helps for any game especially dayz. Could be the external drive i would try, i wouldn't know tbh.

Kind regards

I get occasional rubber banding on my X (when youre running forward then it does a rewind and you are back a few metres again). The other night was really bad but its rare for me.  I checked my network connection and im wired with 64mbps download so I think its server end. Hasn’t spoilt the game though as I just switched off and restarted on a different server.

As a side, I used to get really bad rubber banding on star wars battlefront, even with 35mbps download over wifi. As soon as I hard wired it went away totally so look at that if you can to test its not your end.

nah, if you go into settings & preferences you can turn off the option of recording clips, it just might give you a few extra frames and maybe less dips but changing that & your resolution will be noticeable.. I donno if it would help with the stuttering but maybe. Im pretty sure an ssd typically will load games faster but i guess it depends on how fast it is or large.. I donno. Also turning off recordings turns off streaming aswell. + disabling kinect helps free up some cpu load if you have one of those. Tbh tho you might just have a bug you never know with this game.

i am on wifi but never have an issue with other games pings in battlefield are like 8-21 normally but worth a test hardwired in.

See if you have any packet loss, the way you describe the stuttering makes me think its cpu/gpu related not network related, but im no professional so..

Also some slight freezes could mean people just logged into the server. Those are the only times my game will do that. I'm saying on an x. But I've never had the other issues but have had people say the same thing if they aren't playing on the one x

I don't know man just seems odd i can play everyother game i have with no issues. I play PUBG with hardly any issues apart from the buildins taking to long to load on a couple of maps.

I've been on servers that seem to freeze for a split second every few minutes and I don't think it's people logging on. Seems to be a regular pattern. I've also had the odd random split second freeze which I have also assumed is someone joining the server. Other freezes have been on a change of weather pattern. Other than that I rarely suffer with this issue. I don't know why, but it seems to vary from server to server. I always play on NL servers. The one I'm currently on seems pretty smooth. It also seems crisper somehow, though that might be my imagination.

Stutters and the freezing for a sec could be players spawning in and out the server. This happens a lot in full to high pop servers. The larger cities also tend to cause stutters and freezing.

I know it's not always ideal, but it really is best to play on servers that are in your region. I'm US NY/WD and I'm on the OG Xbone. Besides the recent freezing issue I had (hard reset fixed it btw), I only get stutters and freezing when I'm in large cities or when I'm in large crowds of players.

Good morning,

i manage to play a few hours last night and hardly any bugginess, i do found though are a hour or two that the sound goes out of sync and this is a tad annoying. I assume this is a known issiue given it happens all the time.

Regards

A little update on this i have moved the game to the internal hard drive and i think it does help and is definitely less buggy than before.

If you want to check your packet loss (test your internet) or change resolution just look up how to do it for xbox, you don't need to be tech savvy at all. Hopefully u got your situation figured out though. Cheers

There’s a option in setting to disable “Xbox DVR recordings” or something like that, it won’t help much but it might a little bit. I always have it off as it uses extra processing power to always have a background recording of your gameplay if turned on.

Most of the issues of stuttering, lag, freezing, crashes, audio sync (footsteps being a second or so behind the gameplay), etc all have absolutely NOTHING to do with your hardware or the console - it’s because the game code is not very well optimized and switching or upgrading to a 1X or anything isn’t going to solve the problems don’t waste your money. The only way to fix it is on the devs end and to keep getting the engine to run better and keep patching the game and optimizing the code to run better and more efficiently. Keep the game on an external SSD, it won’t help much except you will probably get a bit faster load times and quicker object rendering (especially when being scoped in ADS or looking in opposite directions) the internal xbox HDD is inferior compared to an SSD but that’s about the only help you’re going to get on the client side. Everything else has to be done on the devs end and there’s no way around it.

@wh1skey_ like i said seems to have made a diffence moving it from external to internal drive. Someone else mention the game recording thing. Might test that too.
