Give Clients one week of grace period to update clients.

Something that concerns me a lot is, that everytime there is a major update and there is large-scale updates, modded servers tends to go offline due the mods won't work anymore. Some mods can be disabled but the major ones that has contents ingame (and if disabled) so will the items be deleted upon a server start.

I suggest that you give players an option that after a major release, to be able to play on the previous verion for a while to give the moders some slack to have time to update their mods. And in the meanwhile be able to play with the old client, isntead of being forced to update to the new version. Last time, my server was down for one week due some modders didn't updated their stuff.  I know most modders update their stuff quite fast but on some occasions they might be away on vaccation or whatever and not able to do it. So I don't see the harm in having that option in steam.

Please consider this option

Isn't it one of the purpose of EXP branch ?

IMO Test servers only should be running on EXP version, and allow to test/adapt mods when a new version is released, and yes can be unstable and require server stop.

Once the patch hit the stable, most of the bugs should be already seen/fixed on EXP

Well, if that was the case then everything would be fine.  Why do you think I started this thread for ?

I know that some server administrators announce and invite players to experimental servers for the Mods test they use on the main server. This question is more to server administrators.
You can disable the game update on Steam and ask the server administrator not to update the server. But in any case, you need a Mods test on the updated server and feedback from the Mods publisher to solve Mods content problems.

I don't think you can disable the Client Update. The only choise you have is to Automatically update the game files when released or when click play.

As for now I am still trying to get my second server up but , One mod was discontinued and someone else took over which delayed everything. Moders updates their mods like 3-4 times = bad version constantly the first 3 hours. And that is 3 hours of my game time instead of wait for a few days till everything has settled. But nope, I am still trying to iron out
some issues with bad version I have atm.

If you had the option to Update client later so would that been better since I wanted to conrtinue to play with friends but nope.
