Deleted Server?

My home server was us 4035 and now it isn’t showing up? My friend was playing on it then got kicked and couldn’t find the server either? Were any servers deleted at all?

As far as I know, public servers can be decommissioned when the host needs to allocate a rented server.  This has been an issue for years, and I was under the impression that they had taken steps to ensure a secure and stable offering of public servers for viable persistent gameplay.

@RaptorM60 @Baty Alquawen  Do you have any input on this?  Do official public servers have any safeguards to ensure that players aren't completely gambling on whether or not they are wasting their time by playing on any specific official server?
Is random loss of all persistent progress still the status quo, is the hosting company gets a new community server account and does a bit of eenie meenine miney mo?

I'd be pretty interested in the answer to this as well.

The devs can (and have) put enormous amounts of work into making persistence work (especially over the .50 patches). The players spend hours, days, weeks investing time in the game. Only for all it all to amount to precisely nothing when servers are wiped or disappear.
