Raincoats

I searched for this, although not finding anything im sure its been suggested many times.  I mean it has to have been. it seems so silly of me that you could play this game and never say to yourself, "hey, why the hell am i only wearing a raincoat? who the hell wears just a raincoat." and not say something, but here goes nothing:

Make raincoats vest equippable instead of shirt equip. it only makes sense.  dayz is aiming high for realism, seems kind of a big oversight to not realize raincoats go above clothing and arent worn as clothing(ya know?).  I mean, do you throw your slicker on with no shirt?...weirdo...

See, DayZ isn't really aiming high for realism at all.  The goal is authenticity.  Because it's a video game and requires a design approach as such.

If it were aiming for true realism, there wouldn't be infected.  It would take months, not minutes to grow crops.  You wouldn't be able to craft a rope out of 12 rags in 7 seconds, etc.

There's no oversight.  The developers are aware of this.  There's always some combination of design and programming limitations.

Having crops grow in realtime or slowing down user actions such as crafting to be accurate to realtime is hardly the same as having multiple layers of clothing . I'm not a programmer but it seems to be possible, as the developers of game "SCUM" have implemented several clothing layers into their game. Having several clothing layers would also add to authenticity. I haven't seen the devs denying this idea either btw. 

However in my opinion there are currently far more pressing issues than this and so I believe it's something that could be taken a look at POST 1.0

Here is a suggestion of mine that falls into the same category of POST 1.0

The developers have touched on this subject a long time ago and the reason we won't see any raincoats or rainproof overalls is because of clipping issues.

yes - but you can already wear a raincoat INSTEAD of a shirt or jacket
so the way around this is to define the jacket as <under> when you put the raincoat/poncho on
the jacket gives the same protection, has the same pockets etc, but it is not skinned (drawn) on your body.
in your inventory it can also be given the tag <under>

Maybe just replace the graphic to raincoat and put it in the belt slot? The benefit is you become waterproof but downside is that it's bulky/shiny/heavy.  Avoid clipping altogether.
