Servers are now down to around 50 per region is this something we should expect as the standard going forward?

Just wondering the same thing as 2/3 of the servers just disappeared :/

I believe so.

With absolutly no content added, RDR2 released, BFV in a couple of weeks and so on...i doubt the devs will think it's neccesary to have 300 empty servers.

Sorry to say it, but there is nothing to do in this game...other than jog down to elektro and kill/die.

The number of servers will likely be adjusted based on the number of users.  If all the servers are full, they'll likely add more - if there's a lot of empty ones, they'll remove them.   Nothing unusual about that.
