7 months until beta?

Recommended Posts

I heard something on the forums we had 8 months to roughly go until beta.

That's good to know, i thought we where 2 years to go only last month.

What features do we have remaining left to put into the game?

I'm not even gonna speculate how long Cuz at this point we are gonna go well over 3 years (just for alpha , not including beta).

some things me and my team have been waiting for since day 1 that still need to be added :

Predators

barricading

base building

advanced vehicles

dynamic zombie spawning

shooting from cars (mentioned b4)

electrical generators

fridges w/ persistent storage

LTL weapons (less than lethal)

Wounded/limping animations

dragging animation

many more things that I can't even rememeber anymore . I just hope the pace is picked uP soon so to speak .

Hicks said 6 to 8 months till beta at gamescom 2016:

"[...] I don't think we're that far away from our beta, which is for us, beta is the switch from say, where we are right now which is like, 85% feature development, 15% bug fixing, and those numbers switch when we hit beta, and that's when I think you're really gonna start to see a lot of the major complaints, as DayZ players like myself will have with issues and bugs and such, not being taken care of, that's when we're really focusing on that, and I think we're probably, I'd say, what's this, the eighth month? So we're probably... I would say 6 to 8 months away from that."

It sure seems like rushing to meet that goal would leave many features missing at beta, but what do I know?

You know a fair bit, and if that is true reading by the lists we had at the top post, there is a ton still to go.

or are these things already there, just not put in place yet.

some things me and my team have been waiting for since day 1 that still need to be added :

Predators - being worked on for .61. May be included in later exp .61 builds or left until .62

barricading- already partially included, namely locking doors.

base building- smoss stated recently that a lot of design choices are still being worked on. Likely to be one of the last features implemented.

advanced vehicles- already in. Unless by advanced you mean helicopters in which case still being worked on and likely waiting for vehicle desynch issues to be resolved.

dynamic zombie spawning- coming in .61

shooting from cars (mentioned b4)- unknown if this will be a feature or not. Likely going to need the new player controller to be implemented.

electrical generators - will come with or shortly after Base building.

fridges w/ persistent storage- fridges are in game already. Persistence is already included.

LTL weapons (less than lethal)- wip. They will come.

Wounded/limping animations- needs player controller to be implemented.

dragging animation- not confirmed but would need new player controller to be implemented.

many more things that I can't even rememeber anymore . I just hope the pace is picked uP soon so to speak .

A lot of things have already had the framework put in, they just need more polishing and options added.
