Constant overheating - ignore?

Recommended Posts

It's not like I'm wearing anything heavy - just a green hoodie, Gorka trousers, assault vest. But I'm still constantly overheated. Only way to deal with it is take a swim.

Can I just ignore it? My healthy status seem to be holding up just fine...but a bit worried about suddenly dropping dead.

I ran into this last night. I was playing cat and mouse with two less than friendly players around the NWAF and I started getting this message.   It was night time and raining, so I took off my gorka jacket and got myself soaked. It lowered me to just "hot" but if I put the jacket back on I would start warming up again.  I eventually just ditched the jacket for a non gorka one and used the rain to try and cool me off.  I did notice that my hydration seemed to drop much faster, so I would assume that as long as you can stay hydrated you should be fine.

I really hope this over heating is a bug.  I just logged out because I was bored because I had just spent the last 15 minutes sitting in a pond (at night, in the rain) and I was still over heating.  I was finally getting the :"I am slowly cooling off" message, in between 5 or 6 "I am over heating" ones...  I am starting to think we may need to play naked...

Yeah, I really hope they hotfix the season or temperature to go down a little bit. It only takes about an hour of sprinting with clothing on to go into hyperthermia. Thankfully, the ***Hot, Overheating, and Hyperthermia statuses only drain Hydration*** as tested in this video

The overheating thing is quite annoying. xD I literally ran around with nothing but shoes, hat, and a bandanna. Yet, I was still overheating. >.>

Indeed it is.

It seems to be a question of just how long you can go without having to take a swim. I'm finding that not wearing a hat, or gloves, helps. Jogging instead of sprinting is very important. Gorka jackets or raincoats are a complete no-no.

Once I'm in overheating or hyperthermic status, the only thing that seems to help is getting drenched. This seriously needs fixing IMO. Wonder if it was an issue in exp.

It's the middle of the hot summer in Chernarus.  If you sprinted 4 kms with full military gear, hat, gloves, mask, and whatever, you'd be hot too.

Not wearing hat, gloves, heavy jacket, or mask. More importantly, not sprinting.

Is it? I am almost 1000000000% certain that the environment says that it is Autumn.....

Maybe the temperatures are all fucked up.

Well in the interests of practice and RP, i mainly walk through cities and jog in the countryside. Been going through a ton of water even though i have not been overheating. I feel like if i can see my breath as i am walking around its should be pretty chilly out.
I know walking is terribly slow when we have the option to sprint faster then Usain Bolt, but it drains your food and water 200% faster and if you need to have a gunfight your breath is out and the sway could get you killed.

I often keep my pants inside my backpack as a workaround.  I still heat up, but much less than people I'm with.  Best I can do is to avoid gloves, face and head coverings, and to take off my pants and jacket when not needed for storage or camouflage.  And yes, it was a huge issue in exp.  Seems like heating up is working properly, but cooling off is not.

It was conveyed (by SMoss, I think), that it is summertime and Simulweather has been implemented.  But I notice on stable that the shadows are much longer, and that the path of the sun seems more consistent with autumn.  Perhaps the weather simulation and the date are not reconciled at this time?

I ran around this morning overheating off and on for three hours, while watching my breath...   Something seems off.

I mean..... the trees are losing/have lost chlorophyll, pumpkins are large and orange, apples are ready to be picked (and even starting to rot).

All the environmental signs point to mid-to-late Autumn.

And, of course, it can get hot in Autumn, especially during a sunny day with only light breeze.

But, it seems more likely, almost overwhelmingly so, that the weather simulation and environment are not matched up on purpose. If it got as chilly or even downright cold that Autumn can get in hilly country, a lot more people would be dying and a lot more people would be complaining.
