CR-527 Magazine?

So, I think I've only posted like once before? If that? Since I mostly just prowl the forums looking for answers to my questions, and I've truly looked for this, but I haven't seen any posts regarding my topic in this update. But my question is simple, where the hell is everyone finding these mags? I've been looking for like two days! I still can't find any!

One of the hardest things to find... it's up there with 1911 mags. I looted a large portion of Novo and found two CR527 mags surprisingly. I found them in regular houses I believe.

The mags are in houses that have the steps on the outside, the red and green ones. I think it's the red ones I have had the most luck with, also deer stands. I have also found them in the houses with the shelves and wardrobe in the side room, the yellow with a kinda reddish roof. Basically where you find the gun you will find the mag.... Just never at the same time. Sometimes I will find mags but no gun, like right now I have a guy with two mags and about 140 bullets, but still on the look out for the gun. I tend to keep 2-3 mags on me at one time, depending on my bullet count, emptying 30 round and 75 round AKM mags for the bullets, and boxes of ammo too, when I find them.

I keep the mags and bullets, cause I like that gun. I am always on the look out for it, and the illusive magazines.

Try searching small-to-medium sized towns within about 5 km of the coast.  I have seen more than a few of these in the red and green stripe house, and in the garages with side door.

No luck so far guys, looting North-West of the airfield in that part of the map no-one even touches, small-medium size towns/cities. I'll try again tomorrow, CR527 lovers really need to get some love, these mag's are ridiculously rare!

I agree it is a bit strange that it's basically no effort to find/assemble a working AKM with Kashtan + barrel mag + exra Ammo, while finding mags for the CR527 is difficult. I have the rifle, I have one mag. I haven't found another one, yet. In comparison to the Winchester the CR is too hard to use. I have hundreds of Winchester rounds, thanks to the FAL using them and so they aren't that rare anymore. But for the CR527 this is different. Lovely rifle that looks cool and should be easier to get. However, in 0.60 there will be many changes to the Central Economy and it will probably adjust things again. Right now I'm finding far too many guns, but only few magazines. Soon the weapons will spawn with attachments and that will change the whole situation. I hope they spawn fewer weapons of the same in one place, then.

Finally found one just a few minutes ago in the far north west of the map, small city called Novaya Petrovka. Found it in one of the interactive blue cars. Finally!!  And I agree S3V3N, it's really odd how it's working right now, all my friends have AKM's or AK74's fully kitted out with mags and tons of spare ammo, and I'm trundling along having finally found a single mag for the CR527. xP I saw a great post from a year back that offered the suggestion of introducing a 10 round magazine, and making that one as rare as the 5 round is right now, then simply allowing the 5 round mag to spawn more. So it's a viable weapon for new spawns, but so that those of us who love it, will search for the 10 round.

I stopped using the magazine for the cr as its so annoying when you scope, fire and it goes away from the scope to cock the gun. If you chamber it and use hotbar to reload it fires basically as well but without the annoyance. I really like using it, mostly for its cool looks, but it does lack the one-shot kill power of the blaze and winnie.

I also like the sporters look, painted black with scope. Awesome. Sad that its so inneffective at range though.

Side note: how are these for sniper rifles? Are the ballistics the same as an sks? (how flat does it shoot, stopping power)

That's funny.  I was just with a buddy in Elektro yesterday, who was sniping with the CR-527 in the single-shot mode.  I don't think he would have used a magazine if one were even available. While it won't put someone down immediately on the first shot, more than a couple of them bled-out and dropped within seconds.

It seems easy enough to use effectively at 300 meters, but you want to have good escape routes and decent cover.  IIRC, ballistics are entirely dependent on the cartridge, so it should work very similarly to the SKS.

I didn't know that.  I stopped using the CR when shortly after the HS came out precisely because of that visual pulling out of scoped view.  Thx.

Maybe one shot if they don't have armor. I've shot a guy at NWAF with the winchester and he kept running around like it ain't no thang, except he was bleeding.

There are quite a lot of factors that play in. I've also been hit by both winchester, blaze and SVD and survived with only my vest and everyhting in it ruined. The type of vest and the items in it do counter damage, also the angle of the bullet plays in quite a lot. If you're hit from the side for example, the arm may take  a lot of the damage so you survive due to it. Health level also plays in and the bone stat. Dayz is weird in that way, sometimes you can surive multiple hits in a row and other times one-shot by a chambered makarov :/

I tell myself this is intended to prevent too much of the viability gap between duplicators/hackers and the honest players. That values will be redistributed with least effective being most easily find-able after they close up the huge imbalance that would create with the games current security measures. I'm not sure if I'm lieing to myself, but it's a comforting thought. ^.^
