What kind of attachments though? The FAL has three slots at the moment. Buttstock and magazine take up 2 slots, so there is one left, I guess for a scope. I wasn't actually expecting a scope that only fits the FAL and it seems there should be more attachments. I also wonder, if the foldable stock will actually fold up in the future. Though I'm not sure of the point. So that we can take a folded FAL in a big backpack?

Shamelessly, I'd like to see an optic and suppressor for the weapon system. But like you've pointed out, there's only one slot currently left open. Of the two items, I'd lean more towards the optic. In it's current state, even with the beastly round, we end up selling our FAL's at discount and hording AUGs and SVDs instead.

Definitely agreed about the foldable stock, aside from cosmetics, it should count as reduced storage in bags and tents. Seems perfectly in theme.

Since it has a picatinny rail, it's pretty safe to assume that you will be able to attach all 3 currently available Nato optics, the most gamechanging being the acog.

Ah, okay that was a misunderstanding then. I didn't know the FAL has Picatinny rails and thought it would get its own scope. Makes sense it should use Nato attachments, being an old Nato gun and all that. I think I was a bit confused there, bc what other rail would the FAL have?!

On farming again - I don't understand why they want to make garden plots permanent. I think it's best if they vanish on server restarts, like it is now. That's better for performance and since the whole process of farming doesn't take very long, it's easy to set plots up. I'd like to plant some bushes to disguise barrels, etc. but since we are getting those underground stash boxes, it's probably gonna be okay.

Regarding performance I must say: 58 EXP had some of the best Dayz performance I ever witnessed. But even current servers stuffed with tents, cars and protector cases actually hold up fairly well - at least the private hives I am on do. It's not as good as that 58 exp tho.

The FAL is essentially an updated version of the Canadian variant FN C1....

So, the breech block carrier has a "pig-tail" that extends back into the butt when fired and the return spring is located behind it to drive the carrier forward to load the next round. The Butt Stock is therefore a fixed part of the weapon and cannot be "folded" during use. I can see where the stock can be deployed prior to use, but you are right about there not being much point to it. (other than maybe making it more backpack friendly even though it has a barrel long enough to be a garden hoe ). Also...the recoil on this weapon is not your average gentle kick...it is significant.

There is a grenade launcher attachment, but it needs blank 7.62 rounds to function (oh no! not ANOTHER ammo type!) and the fore stocks can be swapped out easy enough for composite units...but this weapon is specifically designed to be a stand-off battle rifle...not a close quarters assault rifle or a close defence weapon, that's the fun of having to choose which style of weapon best suits your needs.

Sorry...probably old news to most of you, but I love the FN for what it is...and I really hope they don't pimp it out to please the CS-GO and BF4 players out there.

Well, whatever you say, being able to fit nato optics on a picatinny rail doesn't have anything to do with pimping and as for the folding buttstock, there was a folding buttstock for AKs and you still couldn't fold it. So nothing to see in that regard.

Funnily enough, the way buttstocks work in this game you can actually remove them without any consequences other than a 0.01 dispersion penalty.
