And headshot the zed I was aiming at. . Then 10 of his friends rushed me from every side. I ended up holding up in a house since I've got enough goods and supplies. Maybe I'll get a lucky window shot. . Or perhaps it's time to log and allow someone else the outstanding civil service of spraying some holes in those unholy diseased bastards. 

 

Also. . So glad that infected can't open doors. I'd be so toast if so.

Wait, doors actually hold them back for you?
Every time I run from zeds into a building, closing the doors behind me, they just ghost right through like it was nothing. 

Also, all talk of experimental apart from videos is supposed to go in the experimental thread (I assume you're playing on experimental if you're encountering zeds).

if doors are holding them out, a long wooden stick (not a spear) is a handy weapon.  the attack animation is a stab not a swing, so you can lure them to a window and kill them all quietly.  only takes one or two hits in the face with a stick to kill a zombie.

The problem is: not reliantly. It may be desync, but I've seen a lot of infected pop through closed doors, too. I've also seen them held back by it, but much rarer. I think that it would be best if closed doors slowed them down and locked doors stop them.

I often run to the furthest edge of a building (often near a window). When the infected gather around that window, I run to the other side and out of the building. I've been able to lose most of them by outrunning them. In cities I try to avoid them or take them out with the nailed bat, before there is trouble. I think those hordes spawn when you shoot. There is no way there are that many zombies in most of the towns. It seems to only spawn a horde when you shoot close to other infected.
