jayfkay (DayZ) 185 Posted November 15, 2015 (edited) Both fullfill their roles reasonably well.Ump has less recoil and seems more well suited for 50-100m encounters due to that, mp5 has the raw CQB dps.I prefer UMP for its handling.Suggested attachments as usual: rds rv/acog and suppressor. HaseDesTodes 315 Posted November 15, 2015 in .58 i use the ump, just because i had more luck in finding ammo for it (25rnd mags seem pretty common on military sites, while you need some luck to find mp5 mags at police stations, or police cars) loose or packed ammo seems to be less rare for the mp5 (9mm) than for the ump (.45acp) though. i would try to get a supressor and some optics (M68 or RV1 RDS not ACOG for close engagements) for both guns, and a buttstock and rail handguard for the mp (not nessecary since it can't take a weapon flashlight right now either way) both guns can take a weapon ghille, but since you don't wear it on your back, you don't need it. i don't think it would hurt using one if you have a spare one in .59 i currently use the scorpion smg, which uses .380 auto ammo, which is even more common, and i think it's a nice gun. unfortunatly i havn't found any optics for it yet (and don't think any exist for it at the moment), but it works with the eastern supressor. imo mp5 and ump are better than the scorpion, since the have optics avalible and pistol supressors are a little more common than eastern supressors, so if i had one of those with suressor and magazines, i'd replace my scorpion Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Killawife 599 Posted November 15, 2015 The AKSu is a great alternative to these. The ammo is plentiful but mags are hard to find. And it kinda sucks that you cant put a scope on it. I usually use the mp5, mostly because if I find a UMP I cant find mags for it and if I find mags I rarely find a UMP. I do prefer the UMP as it feels more stable shooting. Boom. i'd take a magnum over an AKu, this piece of garbage has no stopping power, it takes ages to drop a player with it. spray a player at 1m distance, he will have time to empty his mag before hitting the ground. AKM was in 0.45 experimental, MP5K in 0.46, I remember seeing someone on Reddit make incorrect calculations of DPS months back (ie: 7 hit*15 shot/sec = 105) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
