high military gear route

Recommended Posts

I took this route several times and with this, its far to easy to get high geared in my opinion. The possible crashsites need to be tweaked.

They have to be spreaded out. Better distribution.

Thanks, I shall try this out. You might also want to try Polana ----> Gorka ------> Stary ----> Kabanino ----> NWAF and then server hop to your heart's content at the NWAF. You can stock up on civilian loot and food in Polana, then continue to stock up on food, water and medical supplies at the various houses and the hospital in Gorka. The Gorka Police Station is also the best police station in the game, in my opinion- you can find an abundance of MP5s, PM73s and CR75s (all of these are needed if you want any hope of surviving at the military bases). Then, you can have a quick loot run through the Stary military camp, perhaps stock up on supplies at stary and kabanino, and then grab all the high powered gear at the airfield. I always find UMPs, AKs and AUGs at the airfield. I have also found an M4, but only ONCE. They are extremely rare, even if you try to use the loot farming exploit.

Hi, you have probably seen me on this forum before, because I'm a big fan of DayZ.

Firstly, I'd like you guys to rate my current looting route, and hopefully you can give me suggestions.

I generally loot from:

Polana -----> Gorka -----> Stary -----> Kabanino ----> NWAF and then I would do PvP at the airfield.

Any suggestions/advice?

Also, what loot runs do you guys do? I'm kind of bored with the one I use right now, because there's so much to explore in DayZ. Also, the route listed above takes a very long time because there's a lot of towns to loot. I'm looking for a route that preferably involves a visit to Myshkino and/or NWAF but any route that produces good military loot, industrial loot or good civilian rifles (eg Winchesters, Blazes) is fine. I also need a place to get things like hunting backpacks or mountain packs. Thanks!

As far as loot running goes:  Why don't you make a few stashes, so each new life won't have to be a boring, cookie-cutter loot run.

Also, try not to come on here asking for help with loot, while also advertising that you are one of those belly-crawling, greedy coward, server-hoppers who is actively ruining the game for everybody else, just so you can have the honor of dying with nothing but the best gear on you.  The most fun I've ever had PVPing was with a repeater.

You are now free to go commiserate with Rodney Dangerfield.

Absolutely.

OP, this is one of the most important points about persistence - the mechanic that the devs have been slaving over for, what? A year or more? I almost enjoy the challenge of dying and working my way back to my stash from the opposite end of the map.

Also, your run is really just the Green Mountain crash site run. It works, but crash sites are already more spread out than that - much further north, and a bit further east. However, their predominantly NW distribution seems to me to deliberately incentivise people to get off the coast and away from the SE corner of the map.

The problem with 0.58 isn't crash site distribution - it's the Quonset/Nissen huts and the focus on them that need to be (and will be) sorted out.

Yeah, sorry about the server-hopping. I've stopped recently, because I realised how boring and scummy it was. I played on a high pop server, armed only with a shotgun and a blaze with no more than 5 rounds. It was so much more fun. I'm going to be doing this more often. Again, I apologise if I have ruined the experience for other people, but the truth is, I've never really gotten in many PVP situations. I usually die from zombies or glitches. When .59 is out, I will definitely stop the serverhopping. I just don't see the point in not doing it right now because there is nothing to fight for in .58 due to no zombies. The game is basically deathmatch mode, so I might as well get good gear. I promise you, that will change, and I realised in my recent playthrough how stupid Serverhopping is. I remember on my recent playthrough, I was hiding in a deer stand with my shotgun, taking fire from all sides. I heard gunshots everywhere and realised how helpless my player was with his shotgun and 3 rounds. Now, if zombies were added to that... It would be so much fun

I usually run along the bottom left, or top right of the map, following the roads and hitting the towns. Never had any trouble with food or water, usually have some fairly good loot before I reach NWAF. Can't recommend any better route than those two, it's more or less impossible to get lost, food/water is in ample supply, and several good spots to loot are on the way.

My intention with this thread was not to share lootcycles, BUT atm its the only possibility to see a svd ingame. So I tried it out and after maybe two or three runs I found one and I felt like

"mmmhh ok... its so easy to get one?"

Maybe it gets harder again if many infected ar spawning at the chrashsites...

No worries dude, I was being a bit hyperbolic about the hopper put downs.  Everybody does it from time to time, but it's usually not so openly discussed.  ;)
