cornholio308 33 Posted October 8, 2015 Not really going to get into it too much but to simply put it, there was a hardware issue that has delayed the experimental build, I think it would have been nice if that "hardware issue" had actual details, like what went wrong. I have had hardware issues over my time using pc's and can usually figure out what is wrong within a couple of hours and if a game being developed was my job I could have that required peace of hardware at my doorstep in 1-3 days, also another great idea would be simply continuing my work on another computer by simply using the backups that I'm sure they all have or simply throwing the harddrive into another computer and using that harddrive to boot the pc. There really is so many ways to continue your work. Maybe they have gone full cheapo on development and have no spare computers to use? I'm sure a 1-2 thousand euro if that is far too much to expend considering the limited resources dayz makes, cough. What's your guys opinion?
scriptfactory 620 Posted October 8, 2015 My opinion is that this thread will get closed by BoneBoys. If not, I think the DayZ Dev team has real problems with transparency and communication, especially compared to other leading Early Access games.
Yuval 221 Posted October 8, 2015 (edited) There are stuff going inside the company they don't want us to know. If they wanted us to know, they'll tell us. But BIS is actually a big company with several teams working on different titles. (We have ArmA 3, DayZ and Take On Mars I believe). Each "team" is seperated into smaller teams as Tochia said - So the problems bigger companies experience are in larger scales I guess.. ? But hey! Battlefront Beta is coming out now so you should be busy while waiting for experimental :D. Edited October 8, 2015 by StanleyWasHappy
HeXedMinD (DayZ) 39 Posted October 8, 2015 I am sure the computer has been fixed for a while now, they probably have some issues blocking them from releasing to experimental. A tweet from Eugen said it was a PSU and HDD issue so they might need to recover some data from the HDD which can take some time and effort(though they should have backups).
