Truck repairs: Any success?

Now I won't exactly call myself a bad driver, but shit happens.  Given enough time, enough shit eventually happens to render every truck on a server inoperable.  How can I fix this?

 

I have already searched the forums, and wikis, to no avail; and I have also given it a try fixing them by trial and error, mostly error.

 

Does anyone know the specific steps I need to take to get a tire repair kit to work?  I'm on my way to go get a lug wrench from a stash barrel, and try my hand at tire removal, but I am not optimistic that it will work.

For tires, you just need to remove the tire and put the repair kit in your hand, look at the tire and repair.  I think that's how it worked, if not it was just dragging the kit over the tire like a sewing kit.  You have to remove it first in any case.

 

However, if it's just the front tires, you can remove the middle tires and replace them that way.

 

For gas tanks and engines there's no repair, but they will fix themselves on restart.  The tires actually fix themselves too I believe.

if the tire is ruined, forget it. there is no repairing a ruined tire. and you dont need a lugwrench to remove tires

Why ruin things that cannot be made anew?  This is an apocalypse, once it's gone, it's gone. Once it is broken, who is going to fix it?  I'll make it my personal duty to roam the wastelands,  summarily executing anyone found to be destroying technology or architechure without life-saving good cause.

Well, if you completely destroy a truck it is supposed to respawn at a spawn point.  It seems sort of difficult to completely destroy them though, it used to be you could blow up the gas tank but I couldn't get that to work any more.  The restarts are also 12 hours if everything is going as it should.  So there's still potential =P

 

Some people wrecked a truck we had at one point.

Maybe I have to go dump some booletts into them instead of fixing. I still have a couple that work, but all the ones with ruined front tires have yet to respawn.

-Remove ruined wheel and throw it away

-Remove middle wheel

-Install wheel in needed place

-Drive your way to happyness

 

Server restart fix it also, or you can destroy the truck in oblivion to make it respawn somewhere else.
