When DayZ going to have good performance?

Recommended Posts

Really guys,i got a 1400€ pc and DayZ just keep going 20-30 fps in cities...

That's like saying you have a 2 million dollar veyron but can still only go 100kph on the highway (or whatever your speed limit is).... basically, until they get around to raising the speed limit, you are stuck going that speed regardless of what you have under the hood.

But word is that beta will be coming soon....

well that is actually a pretty good explain to me. so you want to wait till new renderer coming (which no one knows the Date yet but its before Beta) so you will get a really small FPS and maybe (just maybe im not sure) a good FPS at towns (like you have in other places nothing more) because it's been said that its internally fixed with renderer. the thing is, devs either don't wanna hype or there is nothing to get hyped (devs not promising any FPS boost at the release of renderer)

anyway, IF everything goes as it's planned, we can see beta starts in 2016 (which i guess we will see a Delay)and that is exactly when they START to optimize the game. so this may not be gifted to you by Santa at Christmas, be patient.

alpha = adding content

beta = start of optimization starts

Lol to be fair the engine its based on was the same story. So i think the correct answer is Maybe in beta? Maybe Never?

Might run faster when the game doesn't run 2 engines simultaneously in order to provide early access.

Try running the -newui launch parameter, that appeared to boost my frames a hell of a lot...

Hard to believe when the menus have crazy low fps with the new UI. I haven't seen any performance increase with it.

I get better performance with the -newui too. And the game looks noticeably different. Could this just be from forced lower resolution? Something is very different, but I cant put my finger on it, lighting?

Forced lower resolution? Well resolution does affect the fps and you can even rise the min fps with it but what resolution it forces you? I guess you play over 1080p because I didn't need to go lower. That could explain it.

I just tested and I got couple fps decrease with the -newui and fps also drops by couple when escape or gear menu are open.

I get FPS drops on the main menu, but in game with the -newui is silky smooth, only the big cities drop below 50fps now, normally running anywhere between 80-100fps with relative drops for towns and villages.. Where as if I run it without -newui, it runs like I am playing it on my dishwasher...

Holy shit! I tried the -newui just now and man was that an FPS increase.

The problem is, the UI sucks big time. No hungry/thirsty/injured/etc. stats, bulky and hard to navigate etc. So one has to choose between good FPS and a UI that is actually usable. /cry

It feels much smoother, ive never checked any actual difference in fps. I do play over 1080, and it just looks lower to me, its not changed in settings. That's just a complete guess to understand it, or maybe the post processing is changed?

I recently tried to play with it and see if it helps with the recent 2 second frame drop, forgot how noticeable it was! I have no answers on this, Hicks said it was unrelated, I'm confused by that too.

Well, we can promise that DayZ will probably have good performance before the Rapture. Anything more specific is just crazy-talk.
