Painting guns now removes scope?

It's been happening this patch.  

I logged out and back in - and it was all still there in my inventory.

The scope seemed to have just gone invisible.

Seems like it. I found another scope (lol at that luck) but couldn't fit it on, so it seems invisible.

 I think you ought to take the scope off first before you spray paint a gun - that's what granpappy always told me

I have a Blaze and it had a hunting scope. Sprayed it black and scope disappeared. Is this a thing now?

well at least your misfortune has served to educate others, i would not have known this and had been looking for a spray can
