crosa 93 Posted August 21, 2015 Hello! so im not new to DayZ but I have always had performance issues, but im only recently discovering how bad my system performs compared to others out there, no matter what I get around 13-15 fps in cities like elektro, berezino, svet, etc all the bigger ones, but once im out in the forests and on the roads I get a nice 50-70 fps... here are my system specsGPU: Nvidia GTX 980CPU: AMD FX 8350 x8 core 4GhzRAM: 16 GigsPSU: 750WOS: Windows 7 64-bit I run the game just about on the lowest settings besides resolution and I make sure im not running anything else in the background that would be hogging CPU usage... I've heard that AMD processors just don't run the game as well and that's fine but I know people who run the game at around 25-30 frames in cities and they have a lesser AMD CPU than mine... so im really curious if there are any system tweaks that I can do to help my situation other than just upgrading to an Intel CPU... Thanks for any help in advance :)
scrubbie_mcnoob 136 Posted August 21, 2015 Try upping some graphics settings, I know it may sound crazy but it seriously can work.
edwin3 74 Posted August 21, 2015 (edited) agree, with a gtx 980 you should everything to high+, but keep "objects" on lower seetings. seek the pinned thread in troubleshooting.in addition id recommend to use a programm like afterburner, which monitors your cpu & graphic load. with that you can adjust ur settings accordingly.what might help a bit (but im not shure) is checking in the nvidia driver if physix is assigned to your cpu or gpu, with ur hardware it should be gpu. if u are playing stable you can look forward to .58, performance is better. greets Edited August 21, 2015 by edwin3
ColdAtrophy 1850 Posted August 21, 2015 (edited) Minimum FPS seems to be largely dependent on your CPU's single core performance. Your CPU is the culprit. Also, you are further stressing your CPU by having everything set to Low. Run Rivatuner OSD while you play the game and change settings while watching your usage numbers. I found that my system can run most everything maxed except for Objects while getting the same or better minimum FPS as I did with everything set to Low or Off. EDIT: The AMD FX CPU users who are getting 25-30 FPS in cities have edited their config files, guaranteed. Edited August 21, 2015 by ColdAtrophy
Just Caused 423 Posted August 21, 2015 What the actual f***, I got lower PC specs and get more frames than you in cities. Around 20-25.
BCBasher 2465 Posted August 21, 2015 I'm running an old socket am2 X2 Athlon and a gtx650ti and getting the same performance, like was already said up your gfx settings and get some load off the cpu onto the gfx card.
Atom Quark 437 Posted August 21, 2015 Anyone else here agree on the FX chips to just disable turbo-core, and just set multiplier to match the turbo speed? My FX-6350 runs better this way, but I also overclocked it to 4.4ghz. You will also want to lower the view distance in the config. I think the default is 3600m, so dial that back to 1500 or so.
