Would increase probability of getting apples from a tree, possibly scaling with the item state. Can be wielded and worn as a melee weapon.

 

Easy + useful + plausible = awesome.

Not crude at all - that's what torture looks like in an improvised environment. In the first (i think) Bond movie with Craig, he got worked on his balls with a big ol' rope, sitting on a cut up wicker chair. One of the most painful scenes ever. And that wasn't even out of improvisation - just for fun.

 

I think - without stretching this topic too far - this will always be the problem limit of a truly "realistic" game: the human ability to improvise.
