Sprained Ankle - what are my options?

Recommended Posts

Trying to see what my options are. I log in, was completely healthy before, now a sprained ankle. Tried a splint - no dice. Any way to get relief from a sprained ankle?

Only a guess:

It might go away after some time.

Can you still run/sprint?

Maybe in the future you can't run anymore with a sprained ankle and the chance of breaking the foot gets higher. Would be nice.

morphine - med tent?

Is that actually a thing? I've never gotten it to work (med tent)

I had a sprained ankle the other day, from jumping off one of those two story sandbag bunkers with the netting.  I tried morphine and a splint as well to no effect.

I had healing status, and either due to that or simply relogging it was gone the next time I played.  It seemed to have no ill effects on me while it was up, though my assumption was that maybe you'd be closer to breaking your legs with it.

You are lucky! Well it's not a cruciate ligament rupture! :D

Go find a bush, take out your axe, gather some wood, so you get wooden sticks. combine those with a duct tape, a bandage or some rags and create a wooden splint. use that to "cure" your ankle.

morphine works as well.

Neither worked for me as stated, and the splint didn't work for the OP.

Sorry my bad, completely overlooked that :D

That's weird, worked just fine for me 2 days ago.

I got this at some point after running around, jumping and dropping form very low heights (that did not do any noticable damage). Whatever the reason I was able to cure it using a splint - or at least the indicator disappeared. You may try a splint again or it actually did work but did not show until relog.

Worked fine for me on Friday as well.

Could be bugged status update in OPs case on top of it I guess.

Def a lot of bugged status stuff now. I've had sessions where I would drink 10 bottles of water and still be just dark green hydrated. Log out and back in later, and boom, status updates and I vomit everywhere. Ooh, nasty!

Incorrect. I used a splint, then I tried a second actually, neither did anything. The ankle remained sprained.

So yeah, to bring this to closure - nothing I tried would fix it. After logging in again a few hours later the status is gone. I guess it was just a status bug? Or maybe it healed up?

A splint worked on my sprained ankle the other day as well.

Did relog chance anything?

I logged out that evening and logged back in the following day - the following day it was gone. I didn't think to relog at the time, but maybe that would have done it.

When in doubt, always relog ;)
