FlimFlamm 509 Posted June 3, 2015 When you get a vision of something that can be done, like acquire a cool vehicle, a cool gun, build a cool base, it motivates you to invest your time and see your plans come to fruition. Put simply, I play Dayz a lot when there is lots to do.
hekp 223 Posted June 4, 2015 To keep things interesting I try and limit my kit. By this I mean every survivor I start will be of a certain playstyle. A cowboy with a repeater/magnum only,a city civilian with only a pistol grip shotgun. I also limit the major equipment like backpack, pant, shoes, etc. I make sure they are all things that fit the character. This is much more interesting and challenging than...Got to VMC/NW get military gear + automatic rifle. Helps keep it fresh for me.Same. I like limiting myself to go without the backpack and if my first thing i find is a cowboy hat.. same as you .)
Noctoras 409 Posted June 4, 2015 Personally, I dip in and out of DayZ, I've not played a proper session for a few months. I can't quite pin-point why, I mostly just get sick of walking or running around in the woods with little to nothing eventful happening. Likewise. Nothing happens until you get sick of rteading careful, the first and only event then maybe being some sniper waiting for you in whatever town you just enter. So yeah, it's a hop on hop off for me too, still lacking a good storyline.

I can't quite pin-point why, I mostly just get sick of walking or running around in the woods with little to nothing eventful happening. I notice though that a lot of people here (I know you're going to get a biased perspective on these forums) seem to play the game very frequently. What is it that draws you in and makes you want to play DayZ day in day out? I feel like I must be missing something, or maybe not, maybe I'm just burnt out on the game.you are not missing anything at all dude. The game is just crap at THIS moment of development. And that guys who play in this shit constantly - they just maniacs.
zeroy 240 Posted June 5, 2015 I find I can get bored easily also unless I set myself goals, can be hunting or certain items and more recently building a stash of stuff stored in backpacks....Goal can also be a location so say I will travel from south west up to north east by a certain route.
