I was getting the unsafe to light a fire here and was freezing from a prison swim and back. So I went into a shed behind a house and set my ak101 with 30 round clip down cause I have a mosin on my back and in the other side I set down sticks and made a fireplace with rags and lit it with my matches and ahh nice fire and dried off some and warmed up. Picked up my ak101 and sat until it went out. Walked outside and started heading for the bushes and got the Server not responding for 22 23 24 25. When I get back on I am having the crap beat outta me by the zombies at that house and I am cold again and soaked again and my ak101 is gone, my sticks are gone and the rags are gone. I write down the server name I am on and logged off and back to see if maybe I logged into the wrong one. Nope it was the right server and my gear is gone. I haven't lost anything like this in a long time.  As difficult as it is right now to find stuff, this is a big loss. I thought persistence meant it stayed there at least for a little while.

Yeah, this is bad luck at server restarts! It's best to know when about a server restarts (every 4 hours now) and avoid dropping anything in the last five-ten minutes before a restart, Similar things will happen when you are in a truck, as the truck will respawn where you left it, but you will be in the location where you last had your feet on the ground; only happened to me during server restarts. I found a nice stable server and know it restarts at 3:00, 7:00 and so on. 

 

I lost my AK-101 with scope and silencer + bipod too, but I drove the truck against the low end of a fence which caused it to spin into the ground and kill me. I'm sorry to hear that, but if you manage to find a police car or check some of the police stations in the north, you should be able to find an MP5 and mags are currently still plenty. It's a great gun for zombie killing and comparably easy to come by. If not an MP 5 you will most likely find a RAK. Another Ak-101 will probably take a while for you to find. I haven't seen one in ages, and I play 0.55 like a true lunatic whenever I can ^^

 

I hope the next update fixes a lot of problems with the current loot, but I believe these particular problems with server restarts will persist for a while...

Well thats where you went wrong, no such thing as a " clip " for an AK, did you mean Magazine?

 

More to the point though, server didn't update to the hive when it reset, its a bug, but it happens, gear is gone.

If it was private chances are they haven't turned persistence on due to the current bug regarding loot on private servers.

Nah I never play on private servers. When that server is down, my character is down. I'd rather play on public so I have more options. Well I'll follow that advice of trying to figure out the timing of the restart and not dropping anything near that time.
