Not totally sure I want to go private server this time around for convenience reasons, but I'm open to it. Ideally, we'll want a server with persistence turned on of course.As long as we know which of public or private (and what private server in particular) will be used a few days before the event, I can gather stuff easily and I really don't mind if it's a private hive. (AS long as it's not the Colony server, as I can't join it at all since my __cur_mp.ebo problem. Searched everywhere for a fix or way to repair that, deleted files suggested, verified cache at least 10 times, and finally uninstalled and re-installed DayZ, to no avail. But, it's not that big of a deal since it's only with this server. There are pros and cons to both, but my biggest concern about using a public server is that any group of geared bandits could just hop in behind security mid-event and cause chaos. On a private server that's still possible, but it's less likely. Also, people are probably more protective of their public character and gear than a new character on a private server (assuming it's unlikely that many will already have a geared character on whichever server is chosen). 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
