Any word about civilian buildings?

Recommended Posts

It's well known that chernarus haven't a good variety of civilian building so we get generic towns with the same houses here and there.

So I have 2 questions:

-Will there be brand new civilian buildings?

-Will they update the current ones to make them 100% enterable? (example of useless doors in the 2 story red and green buildings with inexistent 1st floor rooms)

Honestly just retexturing the houses so towns have some variety would do it for me. Even if it were just a change of color.

It would also be nice to have a little variety in the furnature loadout for current buildings.

They will be creating plenty of new (and some unique!) buildings yet before the game hits beta. Trust me, they listen to the community, they know we want variety, and they know we want new/unique locations.

Here are two examples of upcoming civilian buildings for as-yet-unannounced locations:

1. School building: http://www.dayztv.com/pic/dayz-0-53-leaked-high-school-building-model/

-Filled with these objects: http://www.dayztv.com/pic/dayz-0-53-leaked-objects-models-for-high-school/

2. "Summer house" (vacation home): http://www.dayztv.com/pic/dayz-0-54-leaked-new-summer-house-model/

The school is definitely going to be cool. It would probably make a good base for a larger group. I hadn't seen the pics of the interior items before; they look great!

Those summer cabins look good, too.

I like that Cherno has the demolished hotel and Novo has the tall tower (I call it city hall, but I guess it's just an office building). It would be nice if the rest of the large towns had distinctive features like these. Novo was added only recently and it also has a very distinctive industrial area. I know that the devs are revisiting some areas of the map to make improvements. I just hope that they are not shy about making some bold changes, to ensure that each of the larger towns is just a little more distinctive.

That was my thought as well. Just as in real life, the larger rooms of a building like that would be excellent for social gatherings and events.

Those don't do a whole lot for small villages or even most towns though. The school is a distinguishable point of interest, while currently most villages and towns host multiple of the exact same buildings. Even something as simple as varied colors and interior decoration would break up the motone feel of everything.

It's a big more forgivable in cities as you do tend to find a lot of the same buildings there(Here in The Netherlands that's very noticeable) but once you enter smaller villages it's a bit tiresome to see the exact same buildings you see on the other side of the map.

The Belltower and the International Hotel are not completely enterable (atleast you can't just climb up into the international), i would really love to see them 100% enterable and with furniture one day
