Anyone else who can't fill water bottles?

It does the animation when I use a pump, but it doesn't fill up. Only thing I can do is cancel action. Anyone else?

I did it by standing up, holding the water bottle in my hands and holding it out.

 

Then when i "Use water pump" it filled the bottle.

Strange. Server hopped and then it worked. Didn't seem to be desyncing on the first one though.

I find switching to lower pops helps with this.

 

Same with inserting IV's, almost impossible on busy server

Depends on server population, an old glitch. If the server has plenty players then it's hard to fill bottles, drink bottles (unless drunk by bits), apply splints and so on. The animation goes on but doesn't give any result. Therefore "Cancel Action", pray and try again.

I've seen a guy in a video say that he spams the "y" button while performing an action. Supposedly it helps. 

I rarely have the problem. I usually just walk back and toward the well and it works. Or you can drink just a sip and try after that. Works for me, too. I'm not getting hung up on filling bottles, but I do have problems sometimes when I try drinking an entire bottle (only option is to cancel, then).

apparently it solves the problem of not being able to drink all. If not y it was z. Maybe it was spamming "Z" that helps. Always damn confusing with your US keyboard layout. Y and Z are exactly the other way around on EU keyboards.

S3V3N was obviously talking about the "QWERTZ" layout which is used in Germany and other European countries.

On topic: I, too, have problems on full servers. Sometimes it just takes a few tries, but other times it won't work at all. If you have a friend on the server he xan try to fill the bottle for you. He might not have the problem at that moment.

Sweden is a European country and our standard keyboard is a version of QWERTY, with three extra characters added. To be honest, I can't remember having seen any other than QWERTY keyboard in other European countries I've visited.

Both keyboard layouts are dumb and keyboards need to be redesigned. The reason they are like that in the first place was to slow typists down because when they used type-writers, if the typed too fast the arms would all jam together. The Qwerty layout was developed mathematically to make the slowest keyboard possible. Now we don't use typewriters, we've no need for the stupid layout anymore.

 

Incidentally, since I know you're all enjoying this little story so much - the world championship type writing competition....

Well anyway, there was some controversy a few years back when a typist who had 6 fingers on both her hands won so the runner up complained that she only had 5 fingers and her nemesis 6 giving her an unfair advantage! She was over-ruled though and the 6 fingered lady won! Yipee - and you were all about to cry because you thought the normal person won in the end.

 

I think type-writer weekly had a record number or readership sales that week when it rocketed up from 3 to 8 plus a sheep (I believe it was held in Wales) ;)

Haven't experienced any trouble filling up neither canteens nor bottles. I mainly drink from cans, ponds or pumps directly, though.

I actually tested it and I could fill a bottle while tapping "y", whereas I couldn't drink all without it. So why this works I don't know, but I can confirm it does. Also just drinking a sip and then finishing the whole bottle after that works.
