Helicopter Crashes on 0.53 stable / Public servers - empty no loot

 

Found two so far immediately following scheduled restart - no loot, waited logged in and out - no loot.

 

Anyone else?

If it's persistence on, then they most likely won't have loot. Since persistence has a different system of respawning the loot (unequal).

Even better, if persistence is on.... they're invisible haha. Good luck finding crash sites then... (Unless it was fixed in 0.53, but don't think so)

Rain coats, light sabres err glow sticks, and sometimes you get very lucky

and find

 

2 smersh vests, 1 m4, 1 styr aug, Frag, etc... haven't seen one in awhile like that. Clan Mates ninja'ed it fast :)

 

Otherwise sometimes I find the odd gun, ammo can but nothing really to write home about. I am surprised we have rain coats and not Hi cap vests, etc.. in those helio's

Heli crashes are fixed on 0.53. :P

Crashes will spawn on persistent servers following Wednesday maintenance. But that will probably be the only time you'll see them there, as they will disappear on the following restart.

 

They work as intended on persistence off servers. However, the crash hunting playstyle has been made extremely difficult by the roaming gangs who will log in immediately on those servers' restart, and scour the sites (often via V3S).

 

In 0.53 you have to be very lucky to find an unlooted UH-1Y site.

You're absolutely right, crashes don't spawn anywhere, so everyone should stop looking for them. Now.

Found my 4th Heli Crash site shortly before the weekly server maint on the 17th.  All have been empty so far, really looking forward to finding one with something as the only items in the game I haven't seen spawn at crashes.

Man, I REALLY wish they would go ahead and knock out some of those persistence bugs. Its the sole thing that makes DayZ a survival game for me. Without it, I have a hard time keeping interest. Anymore its hard to find a good server with it enabled because of all the issues.

Simple as this:

 

Persistence on, helis spawn once, after the wednesday wipe, at the next restarts the heli model doesn't spawn, the loot does. 

 

Persistence off, helis spawn at all times, heli model spawns, loot spawns.

 

However raincoats are taking a lot of space from the loot tables and you can come across with empty crash sites even after a plain server restart. These are mostly Russian sites but UH-1Y can also have the same destiny.

 

Anyone who says helis don't exist on 0.53 are outright wrong, anyone who says they don't spawn loot is outright wrong (if you generalize, no loot at all spawns at heli crashes)

 

 

That's it, there's not much to discuss about this. Now go and find the heli sites.

Incorrect I'm afraid. They spawned raincoats (many, many raincoats...) in 0.53. Now at least some of those raincoats have been replaced by M65s.
