Military tent questions

 Please someone, explain me this.

How long do military tents keep stored items on persistent servers? Do tents get reset during the Wednesday maintenance?
How reliable is the persistance in general? I just found a tent for the first time in 650 hours and want to use it for storage. Should I bother?

If you and your friends have fun searching high and low, go for it. As of now its not worth it IMOH up until the cycles of DB cleanup get longer.

I would So use it . I just use mine for a week then pack it up before the maintainence. Then put it right back down.  I left both of them up last week because i wasen't able to grab one in time but to my surprise they were both still there with all my items. So i guess .52 is keeping them. On a sad note my server crashed and everything got whiped :(    But i would make a camp. Better to use it then just throw it away. Just make sure you find an extra super secret spot :)

I've just found my first military tent and I'm wondering as I get mixed signals here - does 0.52 wipe the tents every Wednesday or not? Because if yes, tents actually let you carry less than more from week to week, so we still need to wait until they become actually useful.

Well this is the thing. Some claim they have had tents that remained after a maintenance update while some have reported it gone.

Maybe they stay on private shards? As mine on public sure is gone after today's wipe. I think it's nice they introduce tents, I just wish they told us when the tents are going to be actually useful. As it is right now, they're more of a burden than a blessing...

I have left backpacks on the ground to see them gone in 24 hours, I found a large military tent the other day but just threw it away because persistence is broken and not worth my time.

When they first introduced normal tourist tents back like 0.48, immediately I set off to feedshacks to find what I expected to be my first camp. Not only I wasted good 20 hours to no avail, but when a friend of mine found a tent by accident (of course), it quickly turned out that the thing can't last one server restart. I mean I was fine with useless duct tapes, wrenches and painkillers, but come on, when you introduce such a thing with such a rarity, you could give a heads-up that it's still pretty useless for a long time to come...

 

OK, I think I got that out of my system. :) Still waiting for any form of base building, though. And if you could at lest take in hands a fully packed mountain backpack (but e.g. be unable to run), it would at least make some sense to pack your tent every Wednesday. As it is right now, I just can't be bothered.
