Easiest way to get a SKS and PU Scope? where to go?

Recommended Posts

um. everyehere?

PUs are pretty common at military spawns and storage units.

SKS's are just...everywhere. All the time. Mocking me.

I always find SKS's near tanks/APC's in military bases. Pu Scopes I find at the red roofed "L" shaped houses, bars and storage lockers.

thanks guys I will have a look, dont think i have ever been to military bases. I have never ever had any luck finding the SKS plus PU scope plus Ammo its always missing something

Its one of my biggest problems with this game no matter where I look I cannot find them. But I didn't know there are military bases in this game neither I usually  just follow everyone else and run to Elektro soon as I spawn on beach

I really miss how you're experiencing the game. Eventually you learn places you need to go and places you should avoid, removing the sense of adventure.

When you loot villages, hit every building in town. You'll find it sooner or later. Military trucks and tanks are also good places to look. If you keep heading west, you'll find one (a base) eventually.

There is your problem. No loot on the coast, especially not Elektro.

Like someone mentioned they are everywhere. But check garages and residential buildings if you find any. Those are mostly where they spawn. Or where ive found them atleast

Remember when SKS were the new hotness? I sure do. Now I roll my eyes if they are the only gun I can get!

The SKS and the scope seems to be no problem to find, but the ammo now almost exclusively spawn at military spawns (you can get lucky and find it, plus stripper clip at police stations and firestations, but a very rare occurrence in my experience). So you are better of using either mosin (if you require scope) or repeater (for that semi auto action) as your go to civilian gun, since ammo for those can be found in most civilian loot spawns.

Alternatively the shotgun, but it does have a major disadvantage when it comes to range.

For a while my SKS ammo was being supplied solely from carbine clips I was finding in police stations. It seems people either forget that those clips contain 39's or they don't think 5 rounds is worth collecting.

I still feel it! I had a glitched compass in Balota yesterday. It listed north as west and I ended up completely lost near Mcta. It was sort of awesome.

I've stopped using compasses, not that I used them all that often, and only use the sun, the clouds (always West to East) or the stars.

Yeah I've played long enough that land markers, and that gut feeling is all I need when it comes to finding where I need to go.

2 years on the mod and 1 year with SA, I know Chernarus better than I do most real life places!

That said, it is all too easy to get sidetracked when in a forest.

Only one slot. I still use it to double check because there are times when you just get turned around!

Not knocking you for it, a working compass can be useful if you have the spare slot. The emphasis is, of course, on the "working" part.

So are the inaccurate compasses a glitch or a feature? When I logged back in I swear it was working again!

Yeah a glitch. Some have reported it working by removing it then readding it to your inventory while others only after restarting the game.

Just use the clouds (w -> e), they are the most reliable way, imo.

It made for a great experience though.  I was running along, heading up towards Zeleno when I realized I had no idea what I was seeing around me.  It was looking more and more wooded.  Finally I came into Vyshnoye.  I wish someone had been watching because I probably stared at the sign for a good 3 minutes trying to figure out where I was and why!  I think that is the only time I have ever even been to Vyshnoye other than when I had a helicopter accident and had to bike back to the Stary traders in Overpoch.

You guys were right I found the SKS and PU Scope. What a beauty she is!!!

Offcourse then I fell off a building and died LOL, I have however since deleted DayZ SA from my steam.

Reason being the game is too time consuming and addicted, I am 29 years old and just started my Engineering degree where I want to become a video game developer. My time is really limited and as such with days passing like its minutes in DayZ I could no longer afford to keep the addiction. Maybe someday again, but not anytime soon.

For now I only have 2 games installed in my steam library I removed everything else. I only have Counter Strike GO and Black Ops 2, they make for some good get in and get out experience when you just have limited time but want to take a brake.

I am however lucky to understand now why DayZ was so popular and amazing. I might have only gotten maybe 100 hours of play time out of DayZ but it was great if you ask me, you know how it feels like when you stop playing  a game but wished you could get back the cash you spent on it or maybe some of it? To me I have little regret, sure I would love to get back money from it to maybe waste on some CS GO weapon Skins.

But all in all the beauty of DayZ was something worth the $30 if you ask me.
