I have not played DayZ since last year, I am planning on coming back once the new render is out because on my PC one that can run Battlefield 4 on medium to Ultra mix settings, it cannot even get more than 12 fps in cities in DayZ. No use playing in 12 fps especially when I can play BF4 in medium to Ultra and it looks 1000x10^23 better graphics. But I don't care too much about graphics, DayZ still gets 12 fps on lowest settings and its only because I have an AMD CPU because my friend has same setup with a intel and he gets 30 fps in cities.And funny thing is his intel is a dual core and its cheaper than my AMD CPU. I pray and hope one day DayZ would be able to run on AMD systems with proper multi threaded support. And I hope DayZ will have steam workshop mods so people can remove these food and drink part of the game. Until then there will be this hole in my heart knowing that $30 US was wasted on a game I cannot play, which is in reality $200 of my money where I live so its more hurtful than you may think for someone like me.

Its been a game of eating food simulator to me. To the point where I have deleted DayZ and moved onto other games, its painful I cannot get a refund of my money but such is life these days until new laws are put in place to protect consumers. So my hope is to wait it out in the hopes that DayZ may improve on this aspect or people will be able to mod the game and give those of us looking for the casual experience. Many of us have to work for a living and have responsibilities and cannot spend all day looking for a gun looking for ammo looking for food etc Not all of us are 13 years old and have the unlimited time to walk miles looking for food and weapons.

Its easily the biggest reason I bought DayZ. I had a feeling I may not end up liking the game but bought it anyway because it was $30 at the time. Do you think the steam workshop would allow a Left 4 Dead style of game with DayZ? What I mean is removal of survival aspects of the game no need for things like food etc. Essentially turning it away from a survival simulator (I have to do it in real life and its not much fun so yeah can't spend time in a video game aswell) I am looking for more the casual experience due to limited time I have for gaming etc. Looking for more an American map with an American city etc. I am assuming the steam workshop mods would allow for all of this just like it does for Counter Strike GO and Left 4 Dead etc?

hmm when is the new render expected? AMD 760K 4GHZ quad core HD 7850 1GB 8GB RAM Unplayable in cities especially when being chased even on the lowest settings. 12 FPS etc, its a no go on AMD right now. Performance is everything in a game I don't care about graphics I just want them to fix the performance.

Have not played since January this year or is it December last year? something like that. Wondering if the game is playable now and if the new render has been released. And if so how is the performance now on AMD CPU?

well cheap hardware SHOULD go well with DayZ. Its up the Devs just look at Battlefield 4, stunning game, very large map 64 player servers and runs fantastic Look at Planetside 2, not so great graphics I agree, but giant map bigger than DayZ, yet runs 100% better performance than DayZ

yeah my 12 FPS is actually in a fight scene but when running around in elektro its 15 FPS so this sums it up right here. I can play BAttlefield 3 on High with Anti Aliasing just fine and dandy on 64 player servers. From what I was told Frostbite Engine utilizes 4 cores to its max or that is its very efficient at doing so because my older setup with a haswell Pentium G actually ran BF3 slower than my current quad core AMD. In DayZ however its the opposite effect this is why I have a hard time believing DayZ or Arma 3 runs on 4 cores

A 4.7 GHZ FX 6300 is a extremely powerful CPU thats heavy over clocking sorry I don't have that much money or balls I have a Athlon 760K @ 4 GHZ basically a richland 6800K with the GPU disabled. Sadly it has no L3 cache but cache never really helped AMD that much u know Even then I should not be getting 12 fps in cities, I have a friend with a over clocked 750K AMD and its same 12 fps in cities.

actually its a MASSIVE problem for millions and billions of folks like myself who got their copy of windows 7 from you know from a rather special sauce. But by the time this game is finished and then hits DX 12 I should have a new rig I guess....

It should never be the case that if you have an older CPU you will suffer in cities. DayZ does not really have anything ground breaking for it to perform this badly. Compare to battlefield 3 on 64 player maps, sure not same size as DayZ but BF3 on High graphics runs flawless on my system and looks atleast 1000000000 X10^24 times better than DayZ

Arma 3 runs pretty good for me and I have the 760K Athlon 4GHZ and HD 7850 GPU with 8GB RAM However DayZ SA runs at 12 FPS for me in cities etc. Even on lowest settings the only way to fix it is edit the cfg and reduce the total lighting down to arma 2 level which is horrid btw. I have tried everything including reinstalling windows 7 People keep saying Arma 3 and DayZ uses only 1 core but when I check taskmanager I see all 4 cores light up on my AMD If I play heroes of newerth only 1 core lights up in task manager

this is what I am saying No way could these animals be from the current engine. It looks like Arma 3. I am using a HD 7850 radeon

how is that possible? so how my game don't look like that? should I buy a nvidia card? I am not talking about the first pic I mean the second last one
