Introduce Easy Mode with no health regen issues and never lose loot from death

Recommended Posts

would love this mode for those of us who prefer to play this way.

No worries about food and drink etc. And in addition death don't mean you lose loot HOWEVER it means the other person can get your loot from you like a copy basically.

And leave current hardcore mode for those who enjoy it as is, no one loses and everybody wins.

Dosent this kind of rob dayz of the very things that define the experience?

There are a LOT of people that just want to roleplay. I think it is boring as fuck but I play on two RP private shards filled with people that just want to hang out with each other and pretend they are in the apocalypse.

So basically a deathmatch with legit duping methods built in. Sounds amazing.

I'm not sure why people are slamming the idea. It is basically like every other shooter on the market except you have to find your loadout.

I meant the idea of respawning with your previous loadout. It would be like an open-world Battlefield. This is actually something I have been hoping DICE would make for a while.

Once the performance/lag/desync problems are fixed a separate game mode like this could actually be quite fun.

Well if it goes anyway like the mod did (which IMO i hope it doesn't) there will be plenty of servers that let you spawn with high powered rifles and ammo - if servers were if you donate then you spawn with your preferred loadout - i actually like looting and trying to make do with the few rounds i can find - getting decent with the bow and arrow now too! But if that's what you're looking for then when and if it gets to be modded by the community then Epoch and Overpoch servers will let you do just that!

I understand your concerns, to be quite honest. After playing the standard game for a while people naturally get bored of being forced to get gear so they can PvP again. I believe that this is why the vast majority of player gravitate towards "1000+ VEHICLES" servers.

This is slightly off-topic but, if something isn't done to make the basic/vanilla game more enticing it will die after modding/mission support is added. People don't seem to like hardcore survival where hours/days/months of investment can be lost to a single hacker, sniper or bug.

You are wrong, a lot of us do like that hardcore. The minority who doesn't are just complaining about it like little kids.

For me such a mode, I wouldn't mind it. As I'd hope it would draw the attention of the COD kids and other KOS'ers that are currently playing this game.

Making the hardcore experience better.

While there are many people that enjoy a hardcore experience I do remember DayZero mod. It was a great, extremely hardcore experience. It died and Epoch 1000+ vehicle servers reigned supreme. I believe that the hardcore crowd are the vocal minority, to be quite honest. I'm just looking at the evidence and making generalizations. :)

There's your answer. If it does everything other "shooters" do, just worse, what exactly would the point of that be? Bohemia already have a game where you can play exactly that.

Because there is no open-world post-apocalyptic survival shooter with respawn mechanics yet? Choice isn't a bad thing.

The OPs suggestion.

Why?

Because this is standalone game now and the devs have at least some idea what direction they want to take it. Adding anything and everything players would possibly like would not only take the game nowhere but there would be no difference compared to an ARMA mod making it essentially pointless. I'm not sure why we're still even talking about this as it is obviously not going to happen. Then again, I thought it would be obvious to anyone why is this the worst suggestion ever but there you go.

That is an interesting point - if an 'Easy' Mode was around - it would slow down the KoSer's - DayZero was probably the most difficult mod to survive in and it was amazing!

You counter-arguments are extremely weak.

  • The fact that this is a standalone game has nothing to do with adding more choices for server owners, especially on private shards.
  • No one is arguing that everything players want should be added. If this were the case and the devs were adding everything you would have a valid point, but they are not. This has nothing to do with adding more variation to the standard game.
  • The fact that this would bring DayZ SA closer to an Arma mod is also not a legitimate argument. This would not make SA pointless, in fact, it would probably take many players away from the A3 mods and increase the playerbase. This is not something negative.

I know it won't happen. Hicks posted about this several times. But I can still voice my opinion about it. I love a hardcore game style but many people don't. This does not mean adding more variety to the game is a bad thing.

I am really interested in knowing if you have a valid, objective reason for restricting gameplay choices in SA besides the fact that you want it that way.

This is kinda' what I was hoping for. All of these CoD deathmatchers would retreat to the "easy-mode" and leave the hardcore mode for more serious players. To me it is a win-win but perhaps there are very good reasons for why this shouldn't be done. I haven't heard any, though.

Well, on the one had it would make all the deathmatchers leave - but on the other hand it does market the game for that mode at the same time - thus getting more of those player's into the playerbase

On top of that, it also defeats the purpose of what the game is about - its supposed to be a zombie apocalypse - a world where supplies are limited and the people left are trying to survive - hopefully when the game is finsihed the environment will be a lot more malicious and harder to survive - and ammo shouldn't be nearly as plentiful as it is, then we will have a better game more suited for what it is trying to define - but until that happens KoS will always be there, it is needed - just not to the extent of 90% of all encounters

Yes I do, see my previous posts. You might as well suggest jetpacks with unlimited fuel. It would add more variety to the game, might reduce KoS and make it more fun for players who want to play that way. It would still be the worst suggestion ever though.

Because what you're suggesting is not survival, it's a tactical shooter. Go play a tactical shooter. We're playing a survival game here.

The military loot will be lowered massively when the game will be released. And this is not CoD and not BF4. I's not a game where your goal is to shoot other people. Your goal is to survive. And that means you have to get food and water. You have to get warm or cool yourself. You have to treat your injuries and diseases and so on. Shooting people is just a one small aspect of the game which is not the main.
