xploD 12 Posted December 23, 2014 First of all, I love this game, and I play it all the time, but something is wrong... its killing a lot of the fun people have imo. I went from elektro, looted the whole place, cherno, military base nw of balota, found a truck(AWESOME) I zoomed everywhere and was super excited that I could go anywhere in no time for once, so we went to basically every single city and checked everything...and then we looted the NWAF on multiple servers(boohoo sorry) then checked all the north towns, went through almost every building in ALL the major cities on the map, all military bases on multiple servers, probably a total of like 40 barracks. I found 1 - ak74, 1 - ak101. I found 40 mosin bullets, never seen a single new gun, never found a single bullet for any ammo for any gun except mosin shots and magnum bullets. I also tried persistent servers as well as non. My conclusion is that they are just not actually in the game? Or there is far too little places where good guns or ammo actually spawn and they have a less likelihood of spawning as crappy guns or just random garbage, something to that extent. To the point where you can look through basically the entire game(thanks to the truck) and not actually find any relevant bullets or any decent gear tbh. I'm not saying I know the problem, merely that one exists. A couple months ago we could actually spend 3-4 hours and have like 300 bullets, full military gear, a m4 or any rifle and food. I feel pvp is a huge part of this game, the lack of anything spawning anywhere specifically decent/new weapons/ammo is forcing me and my friends to just go human hunting with pistols and nothing else since we are no longer awarded with anything for spending 6+ hours looting for gear to actually put up a good fight. Does anyone else feel this way, like looting is just...broken for lack of a better word? Or do I have the worst luck NA.Now before people cry over me expressing myself my mind, remind yourself, it's just my opinion, you have your ways and ideology on how the game should be played, at least be constructive. Dagwood 680 Posted December 23, 2014 Your tears give me so much hope, thank you! You and your friends being forced to do your "human hunting" with pistols is a small step in the right direction. Having 300 rounds each for your assault rifles within 3-4 hours is a problem. Your inability to find weapons and gear is likely the result of A.) only hitting high profile buildingsB.) server hopping everytime you hit an empty townC.) you're exaggerating ;)I suggest you watch some how-to videos on YouTube, or play some more and try to change your looting strategy. TLDR; anyone else get excited about thread titles and OPs like this one?
treetop82 59 Posted December 23, 2014 I agree that it does seem some loot is missing, but the devs are tweaking it down more and more, so I expect to see more and more posts like this one. However, I did find 3 AK101s, 1 AKM and 2 AK74Us today on a single server in the Verv military base and the southwest military base. NWAF had a bunch of stuff too, just bounce around servers until you start to see a decent amount of persistent loot piled up in buildings near the bases. GarethAUS 20 Posted December 23, 2014 At the moment all there is to do in this game is...1 - Find loot2 - 2 Kill Zombies3 - Kill people If the loot is too easy to find then too much time is spent on killing zombies and players, this game is meant to be a survival game not a getgungokill game, it is meant to take time, I am more happy with people running around with civ weapons rather than having every twelvie running around with full mil gear TBH... Loot is fine.
TheFarm 158 Posted December 23, 2014 The item spawning works ok, but it is very broken at deterring server hoppers. Want to know why nwaf has 3 pairs of boots and a single badly damaged backpack? Some ass hopped to that server the minute it went live after restart and took all the items you wanted. Then another ass came on 2 minutes after and took all the remaining good items. Then another ass got everything halfway useful, then you and your bros showed up. If you go to elektro or cherno you will find all the weapons you want on the corpses.
Irish. 4886 Posted December 23, 2014 I only read the title, but if you want to find anything in dayz.. just look anywhere. Except straight up. ;)
kitthegreat 43 Posted December 23, 2014 Play private hives, no server hoppers lots of loot. Marginally less ass hattery.

When you want an assault rifle and 300 rounds and gorka military clothing and you can't get it in an hour or less then they're going to start crying. If however you decide to bother looting places you might end up with some different clothing items and only a repeater for a main weapon and maybe a bow - If this is the way the game is changing then great but they need to start adding the zombies soon. At the moment all there is to do in this game is...1 - Find loot2 - 2 Kill Zombies3 - Kill people If the loot is too easy to find then too much time is spent on killing zombies and players, this game is meant to be a survival game not a getgungokill game, it is meant to take time, I am more happy with people running around with civ weapons rather than having every twelvie running around with full mil gear TBH... stinkenheim 249 Posted December 23, 2014 I went to vybor military base yesterday, it had already been looted but I still came away with 200ish rounds of sks ammo (including 4 30 round mags), an ak74 with mag, numerous clips for pistols (ditched most and kept my 1911) and a high cap vest (first one I've owned).Don't often hit military bases but when I do I don't cry if it's been looted already, I'll make do with whatever weapon I've managed to find (usually a blaze or repeater). It's not hard to find guns, there is one specific civilian building which will always spawn a weapon in it (log cabin with yellow front and a single room inside), just check every building, don't rely on only the old favourites to get your gear.
