CJ_14 105 Posted December 21, 2014 Splints! all my characters (I play on 3 different private servers) have broken legs from going upstairs in ANY bulding, I just randomly get my legs broke after more than 5 seconds apparently...and I cannot craft a splint. I know it has already been posted (the issue itself) and is on the FBT. But I wanted to know if there is a way around to actually make one or should I just shoot myself and respawn? odin_lowe 3686 Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) You can tear out your shirt, make rags, go to woods and use "search for kindling" on the forest ground, and craft a splint. The broken legs in stairs is mostly a desync problem, as I got only 2 broken legs in 700hrs + of gameplay from this bug. Try playing on servers with lower ping, it might occur less often. Lastly, morphine does the same thing as a splint, and takes only 1 inventory space. Try looking in clinics, hospital and certain houses with a "medical" spawn point (the green 2 story house with a kitchen, office space and a room for example.) freethink 984 Posted December 24, 2014 how I got around it was, I left the server I was in and joined a low pop persistent server, dropped everything, and got my buddy to kill me. then i ran back to my gear. I actually do believe you BUT I'd like to see it. I think it would help if we have evidence of some people being able to craft spnts on certain servers. It's all good as you guys say. northofnowhere 39 Posted December 24, 2014 Our guys can seemingly craft splints just fine as well, all of us. Of course, only if we are on a lowly populated server that hasn't been up very long after reset. Any type of population or a server that has been up for over half an hour will either not allow you to craft the splint, or not allow you to apply it. In answer to the op's actual question though, how to prevent the issue in the first place on stairs? CJ, it is my experience that this happens more to folks who are less lucky with their connection, or those having immediate desync issues. Some tips. Maximize your connection possibilities. Do not use in home wireless, do not go on servers over 125 ping if you are having issues. "Sync" yourself with the game before entering a building with stairs. Set an item in your inventory down on the ground and pick it up. This action seems to prevent a few problems. It fixes being able to pick up items in a building/seeing them in "vicinity" in the TAB screen as well as seems to help prevent being "DayZ'd" on stairs for those with desync issues. Ultimately the issue is a DayZ related issue that is prevalent in those with lag or CPU lag issues. Working on your connection perfection or computer performance will help your issue. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

CJ_14 105 Posted December 24, 2014 "do not go on servers over 125 ping..." This one is impossible to me...Lowest ping in my country (Chile) is around 160-180 since DayZ became a standalone game. Anyway I actually managed to craft and apply a splint after 6 or 7 tries I too have the same problem. Some idiot shot me in the arm because he wanted to kill a Z, now I can't seem to be able to create splints no matter what I do. Keep trying...eventually, it'll work.
