Hack or bug?

I was in Cherno with a friend at the top of the factory, fully geared. Suddenly, a clan of 5 spawn in and there is some crossfire but we manage to come on top killing every single one, we loot them and proceed to hide. 5 minutes after looting this guys, both of our day z stops working at the same time, strange, we both try to log back in on the same server and we spawned as bambies, really? 

 

I do not mind dying and losing my gear, but how am I supposed to take this? Get fully geared just to get this bug or cheated to lose all the gear? Has anyone experienced this as well? If this is not caused by a player cheating, how can I fix this so it does not happen again?

well, it's a kind of hack that developed recently. Currently the hack is too severe:

 

1. God of death: instantly kill anything within 1000m. (have a something like radar on his screen and kill all of them with one click, anyone that killed by this will hear a headshot sound before death.)

 

2. Magneto: pull any gears to him.  

 

3. Rogue: mimic your gear on him.

 

4. Quicksilver: move fast.

 

5. Kitty Pryde: move or shoot through wall.

 

6. Jean Grey: be able to move a big rock, wall or even building from one place to another.

 

7. Superman: Fly, ignore stamina reduce, ignore recoil when shooting.

I got no evidence, you'd have to take my word for it. However, I'm not asking for my gear back since I know that is not possible, fair, nor reasonable. I do not care about what I lost, but how I lost it. What I said with the opening post is all the information I have, the only thing I'd add is that it was a public server, 'posted by vilayer' and it was on experimental branch. I guess it's not a good idea to play there since hackers are running rampant and are more likely to be found on experimental due car release.

 

What bothers me is that happened to both of us at the same time, it's almost nearly impossible for both of us to have the same error at the same time with different pc specs, it had to be server sided or something along those lines. Anyhow, thanks for your assistance, I'll update the thread if it happens again, hopefully it doesn't.

 

EDIT: I've seen a lot of the 'magneto' loot hackers, whenever I join a low pop server, there's a pile of items that shouldn't spawn at that location. I found around 20+ ammo boxes at fire station and almost the same amount of the yellow cases. Hope that Battleye update hastes a bit.

I've had the thing where I'm playing with friends and we all crash simultaneously. Mostly I've been lucky and been able to log back in with my gear (unusually way back further than I expect) but once I got back and was a freshie. I presume it's someone killed me as I was lagging/crashing.

 

It may be a hack but I wouldn't say it's 100% sure to be one. And I'm not one of those guys in denial re hacks. Said to a pal recently that I can barely remember the last time I was killed by a legit player or glitch.

Me and a friend has a similar thing happen in Electro today, We were on a server with only 3 other people (5 including ourselves). We lock the building and started to test out a walkie talkie since we both never tried it. Suddenly both DayZs crash and we think maybe it was just a bug to do with the walkie talkie and to not use it. We log back into the server with now only 2 people online to find 2 guys inside the locked building who kill us upon spawn.

Ive played DayZ long enough to understand some things are mere coincidence, but for both games to crash at the same time and to be killed upon spawn in a low loot house that has all the doors locked is to much of a fluke.

Like the thread says I dont mind losing my gear and I have encountered my fair share of hackers, but this one was really strange, Ive never had one crash my game.

He is questioning whether or not it is a hack, or a bug, hence the title. He doesn't believe he has found an unknown hack.

I'd guess what happened was someone killed a duper then unpacked their stuff.

 

They are having dupe parties ffs!

 

On the plus side, I think bi/be are basically giving these people enough rope to hang themselves until the big anti-cheat update happens so that's why we are seeing so many aholes. Eugene practically dared them to cheat.

 

 

For now they are just monitoring afaik.

Allright, sorry, mis-read about the ammo boxes. So yes, that's probably done by a duper. But duping is on the same list like cheating.

To the op:

 

The best thing you can do(next time) is report it to the tracker. They'll ask for various details - crash dumps etc and will look at the issue closely. The odd thing about trackers is almost everyone presumes someone else reported it. Even if your report is a duplicate that means at least you aren't alone experiencing the bug.

I don't want to labour the point but a decision was made and then much later you posted a couple of examples that you considered proved the decision wrong.
