Helicopter + Persistence Servers?

Wanted to check in to see if they are back or still bugged?

Kinda annoying to only be able to play on per:off servers to find helicopters.

Since someone found AUG on exp (if not fake) they should work right?

I don't think helicopters are spawning on persistent servers. The loot is spawning, though. You can just run around to every helicopter site and hope you get lucky? XD

I'm not sure if you are talking about .50 but it is a known problem on my private shard.

This is an issue that came up with .51 experimental. OP is probably wondering if it carried over to stable from EXP. Which it did. Eugen comments on it here:

i definitely found heli crash sites on 0.50 stable, haven´t found one on 0.51 yet, but they are rare ;)

Well, i dont trust that.. that you know what servers streamers are playing on, also, did the servers say "per:on" ?

Yeah i got it confirmed that 0.5 helis didnt work so trolls in this thread that say they did dont know shit.. but now its 0.51 mate :)

I think so, i talked to a clan that had a private hive a while back and they said they got loot out of sites that were invis.

It's nothing to argue about. Honestly I had no idea what was the truth until I saw that reddit post. I spent hours looking for choppers in .51 experimental. Should have spent that time sniping or something I guess.

I found one yesterday on 0.51, don't remember if it was persistence off/on (most of them don't even say which!). I found a steyr aug, cmags, m4 optics ect, cmags were compatible with steyr. But DayzDB have definitely turned off heli crash locations on there map.

To make it easier for you my fellow Swedish friend. I have spent countless hours since 0.50 on farming crash sites. I can cofirm that they DO indeed spawn on Persistence OFF servers. Im a proud owner of Smersh Vest/AUGetc from the crash sites.

I have tried couple of Persistence ON servers aswel after 0.51 launch, but yet to see the model visually of a crash site. So, if you want to take the safe way, go for servers with persitence disabled. If you got more questions, feel free to PM me.

that sucks!!! I mean, its OK on public shard where you can server hop, and on end of day go back to your tent. But on private shard servers, I cant have both tent and crash sites. Not fair at all.

Keep reminding that it's still alpha. It wll eventually get fixed but right now with last information about heli crashes and persistence, they said its not a high priority thing to fix :(

I can confirm that I found one of the new helicopter crash sites on the "The FOG Awaits".  It's their clan server, first person, private shard with persistence on.  This was a full bodied new one complete with smoke, I believe someone looted it before I got there so someone else should be able to confirm this as well.
