In just one year grass and saplings will be growing out of cracks in the sidewalks, asphalt roads would be developing cracks, and there would be no fresh fruit or vegetables around except what you pick off a tree, shrub, or dig up out of the ground. Lightening would be starting fires in the cities and towns and forests. People would be forced to hunt, fish and gather for their food very quickly. So what if fresh fruit in the houses is a tad unrealistic. I believe that stuff was placed there by the DEVs to tide a new player over while he assembles a kit. If it wasn't there you would hear bellyaching and crying about starving to death all the time. So as Accolyte said does it really matter? 1. I think it Does matter2. I think the rate at which we get thirsty/hungry should be reduced, but virtually all the fresh food removed from houses/towns except for perhaps canned goods. some of that stuff can still be edible 5+ yrs later. Whyherro123 2283 Posted December 5, 2014 Take a trip to Zaprudnoe and then tell me this game takes place a few days after the infection hits. Could've been a fire. A full-sized lumber yard a couple of blocks away from my place burned to the ground several years ago. The buildings that were left were all collapsed, with chunks of concrete, rebar, melted glass, etc laying around. A week after that, after a good solid rainstorm, that lumber yard looked like it was knocked down in WW2, and had been abandoned ever since. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Kirov (DayZ) 585 Posted December 5, 2014 I understand that the outbreak was just a few days ago and I understand that Chernarus is a run down country, but just so happened today that I went to Gorka and saw a tree growing right in the middle of the road (as in: between two traffic lanes, right there on asphalt), just next to the church. I remember the Communist Poland from my childhood and no, trees don't grow on the streets in developing countries like this. Please chop it down for good if we're just after dayZ.
