Long Break From DayZ, what's new?

I've played DayZmod and DayZ SA when it came out.  I always loved the game but some of the bugs in SA made the game quite ridiculous, mainly super hero zombies from all corners of the Marvel universe.

 

So basically I'm wondering what I might need to know after 7 months away.  I'm hoping zombies function like.. zombies now.  Did they come up with a good system for logging in and out of the game?  To fixed ghosting/hopping/"oh shit I'm being shot at" logging.

 

I don't really feel like reading through all the patch notes and trying to figure out whats fixed and what still may be broken.

 

Not looking for crazy details just general points is fine.  Is the game still fun to play?  From my quick scan of general forums looks like it.

Zombies are still the same, exactly the same. The only difference is melee weapons work now.

Don't post misinformation.  Makes you look like a fool.

We knew it would end up this way. Weeks ago i decided not to play for a week once vehicles were implemented. Wasn't my worst idea I guess.

1. Navmesh. Zombie don't walk through walls like they used to. Yea, every now and then, but you can lock them/yourself in rooms.

2. Vehicles, yup...vehicles.

3. No more head-glitching into buildings.

4. Lots of new towns.

5. 1st implementation of barricading.

6. Ackinghay siay utoay foay ontrolcay noay ubpay hardsay.

7. Private shard servers exist.

8. Bunch of new and cool weapons.

9. Horticulture.

10. Animals, hunting, fishing.

11. FPS is a bit lower than 7 months ago.

12. Craftable ghillie.

13. Ragdoll.

Important things:

1. Zeds less buggy. Still very few of them - hardly any challenge.

2. Persistence - work in progress. Currently broken.

3. Loot spawning - work in progress. Currently broken.

4. Vehicles - 1 vehicle in experimental. Hardly working, but it's something.

5. Lack of high end military weapons. No end-game guns that would give a reson to play regularly.

6. Shooting mechanics as broken as before.

7. Private servers are in.

 

More clothes and various items.

Growing tomatoes.

Hunting.

Oh, barricading right now means using lockpick to lock doors.

We got some new guns, temperature, and a few new towns.

 

So pretty much nothing has happened since launch.

I haven't played for a couple of months and it's 0.50 now (which means one HC avatar survived the entire .49 ;) ), can you tell me guys about any less-than-obvious changes from .49, apart from what's mentioned in the dev log and by wobo? I see it's much hotter now? Any serious changes to the loot, tent spawn, etc.?
