Whyherro123 2283 Posted November 24, 2014 I think they should add spaghetti plants. Also a good source of carbs and can be grown in different climates and soils. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaghetti-tree_hoax
rickyriot 1009 Posted November 24, 2014 Now, if only you could grow potatoes, corn, beans, and pumpkins.... If you are looking to properly fulfil the needs of a human diet then beans, squash and corn would be the perfect combination. It's what the Mexicans have lived on for millennia and what the Incan and Mayan cultures were built on. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_cuisine I think they should add spaghetti plants. Also a good source of carbs and can be grown in different climates and soils. A classic, well done.. :)

Also, the Colombian Exchange in general, and potatoes in particular, saved Europe from starving many times over.
bobotype3334 160 Posted November 25, 2014 Needs to take a little longer to grow and a little longer to rot in my opinion. Maybe ten more minutes or so on either side.

Clearly we don't want full realism with a crop taking 6 months to grow, but 5 minutes in real time is a bit short. Also, it seems a bit daft that they go rotten on the vine so quickly yet you can put them onto the ground and they don't seem to ever go bad (not that I've sat there and watched one, I'm a busy man I have paint to watch dry). I also don't know the condition with persistence on these. If you look at the picture I posted of my garden shed full of tomatoes, would they still exist after a server reboot. You would like to think so, but then considering from just two green houses and the expense of a few minutes I had gathered over 200 ( 2 greenhouses x 8 plants x 13 fruit = 208). If everyone was to do that you could find the server bogged down with a mass of tomatoes.
