RP and everyone else

Right, I'm thinking of starting up a RP whitelisted private server, will be med RP required, try not to be OOC while playing your character.

 

I would have a TS server set-up to contact me and also sort out RP with other players, also this means I could set up roles like Police, Bandits(Gangs), Medics and have a personal forum/website to sort out the RP etc etc, with the choice of private shards, this mean I can whitelist, ban and even check logs to see if someone is hacking or cheat.

 

I also plan to record my own RP and make it sort of a story like theme.

 

I will also be willing to sort out events for players and the factions that join the server.

 

I will have med/heavy rp roles with killing, sort of like DAyz mod life mods, what you think guys?

 

Could also use TS as of a sort of radio system, so if you have a radio on your character you can move channels when you enter a certain city, if there is a medic or the police, you need assistence, means you could contact them, so this would lead to RP.

 

Would you guys play this sort of server?

Me I'm not that into RP with dayz, I don't think it really needs it. Thats just me though, and I will not knock people who want to do it. Also there are others who seem to desire human interaction when they play dayz, infact recently there was a thread about the lack of a socail exp in dayz sa.

 

So I really think there is a place for your idea. I would go further then just setting up a server, I would make a group. In order to be a member they have agree to RP. And put a password on the server so only group members can get in. Other wise your just going to have KOSers or people like me log in and just start shooting people who could give 2 shits about RP show up wrecking the RP. Just saying its an RP server isn't enough. So from a group, and put a password on the server to avoid almost certain problems.

 

There is also CITY LIFE mod for arma 2 that has much of what your talking about, and same with arma 3. You may find your better off just playing city life. Its pretty popular.

I would 100% percent apply to join this server if it was hosted close to me. Otherwise my ping is too high.

Whitelisted players = Players on a list that will be allowed access to the server, non-listed will get auto kicked, hence no need for password, I was thinking they need to post a bio of there character, get a temp whitelisted that lasts for a few weeks, then they become a full fledge member later on.

 

Also I have played city life and arma 3 life mods but personally I perf SA over them, right now SA is simple and new, with the new content = events as well.

 

Once admins can do more with the server, can had out rewards for decent RP and also I plan to use a token system later on.

 

Edit: It Would be near the UK or France, since myself being from the UK.

man i have been waiting for RP since they announced SA that to me is the highest pillar of play in this game please let me know when you get your server up and running would love to join in the fun i like the radio channel idea as well.

So it costs £50 to host a private shard(30 slot), per month....so going to have to think about this before going with it, I could do it, money not the issue but to be honest paying it for myself would be abit meh, so I mite do it, put up a donate option to help with that and maybe look for trusted members of dayz to maybe help me police the forums and be mods there, we will see I guess.

I have bitten the bullet and started a RP server, named [RP] BambiLand, I will get some forums up soon but going to sleep soon and got work in the morning, so most likely not until later 2mora night.

Edit: Also on another note, there will be factions being opened via my own forums, since I want the two main citys to be active Cherno and Elecktro, I will need some RP'ers that would be willing to RP as Enforcement for those two citys, I have my own group going on but there not good or bad guys but more details will be on the server forums at some point, I will post a server recruitment drive on dayz server forums.

 

So for now on, please keep discussions about me making a RP server, this is not a forum post I plan to recruit in.
