At the moment it is "user" :/ Secondly, what is the easiest way to read the map or tell what my location is? Richard III in Leicester 200 Posted October 24, 2014 Hello both, welcome to DayZ. You can change your name on the main intro screen before you select server or anything. Just click your name as it appears in the bottom right of the screen & type what you want. Easiest way to get your bearings as a beginner is to find a road and follow it to a town and find a roadsign or a roadsign at a crossroads whichever comes first. That might help you.But it takes a fair while to get to know the map! If you wanna put a screenshot up I might be able to tell you where you are! lol Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
star-lord252 83 Posted October 28, 2014 Im an average player to but I can easily find my way. You almost always spawn near the coast(the exception of nova). One way of finding your way is through signs, another way is looking at the railroads and roads(if the road is closer to the shore your on the east side of the map, if its the opposite your on the west. You can use clouds and stars as well but that's usually hard. Also when your on the dayz start up page that shows your character and it says user tap the name earase it and change it.BTW I would like to go on a journey with you and teach. Steam name Nick233889 if its not right I'll edit this comment soon and change it to a correct one.I'll be a bandit survivor hero either of them is fine.
