HARDCORE | FINALdayZ | Epoch Survival | The TOUGHEST Server in DayZ

Recommended Posts

IP:188.165.210.182:2372 FINALdayZsurvivor.net

My name is ARTyom. I am the admin of the FINALdayZ server. Its purpose is to provide a challenging apocalyptic environment for the DayZ community as I believe DayZ's hardcore nature has been diluted by additions to make the game easier by the majority.

VQqujLPs.jpg  hBEXMFQs.jpg  BIVtzfVs.jpg  WBG1Wnts.jpg  Yg8cJQIs.jpg  vHBnEXgs.jpg  PMrBTu9s.jpg  P140y6Ns.jpg  vmUhb9ps.jpg

What's fascinating to me is retaining the survival aspect of DayZ. If you believe like I do; that DayZ is supposed to be difficult, then please consider the following features:

No Traders. The only trader on Namalsk is an actual player. He trades items, not gold. Proof of concept

No 3rd person combat. The combat timer locks the view or when vehicles travel more than 50kph.

Orienteering. The map waypoint marker has been disabled. Familiarise yourself with visible land marks. Diary of a survivalist

Famine. Unspoiled canned food is extremely rare. Hunting, fishing and gathering clean water is vital for your survival. You can also cannibilise dead players/Ai.

Extreme Weather. Expect prolonged periods of torrential rain, high winds, snow, hazardous ground fog and freezing temperatures all dynamically developing and affecting your status to keep you on the edge.

Complete Craft. Reduced loot and an extensive crafting system provides new solutions for your survival. Right click new items in your gear whenever you can to learn new abilities. Knowledge is power.

Elite Ai. They are well trained and well equipped. They have bases in key locations to raid. There's also poorly equipped bandit survivors roaming most southern sites. The north is relatively safe.

Selected Vehicles. Cars, trucks and off-road vehicles are rare and mission vehicles will remain after a restart.

Deadly Zombies. Headshots are preferable and because they walk they're stealthy, they hit hard and will drag you from windowless vehicles.

There is only 1 rule: No Hacking. Murders will only alienate others around you.

Challenge yourself to survive the FINALdayZ of humanity...

PvP+PvE+ZeDs=HARDCORE. Become a vet', survive Nam'.

This server is NOT like other Epoch servers. If you like DayZ but would like more of a presence in the world than a simple tent, then you should take a look at the features on offer here.

Epoch/Overpoch has too many guns for an apocalypse. If you prefer an environment where loot is rare and the decisions you make can mean life or death then this is the server for you. Zombies are deadly and abundant, infection is everywhere, even the weather is out to kill you.

If you like DayZ or survival I implore you to have a look at the server and comment here to show your interest. There is already a dedicated community and even a player run trader post. But be warned, surviving here is difficult at best, but every player has the same abilities as the next therefore your skill as a player is tested, not how long you play (no leveling system).

Calling all survivalists...

FINALdayZ is offering a true survivors environment. Food spawns are rare. The Admin/Moderators will not provide equipment. Industrial resources are vital due to the lack of traders.

If you want uber guns(silenced DMR?), equipment, deploy-bike on login please do not apply. If you're looking for a challenging world where it's up to you to carve out a life, then please goto the forum for more details.

Aye - I seemed to have missed that one, thanks for the heads up. You can get me on Skype if you want to chat about DayZ stuff. I'm a bit of a passion freak when it comes to DayZ.

The server is now LIVE. For the love of survival, for the players of DayZ.

Epoch/Overpoch players won't survive. DayZ survivalists will surely thrive.

FAMINE!

There are no food spawns here. You will have to hunt if you're going to survive more than a couple of hours. You'll also need a source of water.

A fishing pole can be crafted as well as a Knife. These tools can extend your chances of survival significantly, so long as you know where and how to use them. Even if you can find food, without heat or specialised clothes you will freeze anyway.

Smoke SIGNAL

Map markers are unnecessary. They rob the game of mystery and de-value certain events by providing intel before discovery.

Get back some of the mystery and explore this DayZ without map markers ruining the immersion. Use your senses to locate valuable spots/events for essential items.

I love the idea behind this server and will definitely play on it over the next weeks.

Especially

However Kerbos post worries me a bit. After all ARTyom wrote I find that strange.

The server is configured to provide very little loot(1/5), although there are places to find decent loot; they are only accessible through hostile terrain. At present only low grade weapons are available, unless you travel to the southern end of Namalsk where the Ai will ensure you don't wander without caution.

There are lots of scripts to enable crafting of certain items for survival. What I have done is increase the trash spawn rate(4/5) and then provide scripts to craft items from trash. Like the inherent bandage craft ie: clothes + toilet roll = 2 bandages. An example of this would be knife craft ie: bandage + razor + tin can = knife(there is a 45% chance to injure yourself and break the razor instead). There are many more included all designed to provide survival kit without having to find the item, but at the risk of injury in many cases. This extends the requirement of knowledge, logic, a little luck and the use of previously near useless trash items.

A decision was made to include a craft-able ghillie suit as normally within an hour it was possible to freeze to death. Although I admit that is hardcore, it doesn't translate that well into an enjoyable gameplay mechanic(I prefer the time limit but many players don't). The ghillie suit acts as a pseudo warm clothes, although actual warm clothes are warmer and rarer. The ghillie suit will not keep you warm at night.

The zombies are very difficult. They walk but they hit very hard. They usually go down with a head-shot, anywhere else is a waste of ammo. Their spawn rate is more than three times default and it is very easy to become trapped in a barracks with low ammunition and no way out. If you let them get close to you then you probably won't survive as they tend to knock players unconscious often. They can also pull players through a missing vehicle window!

There are many features that differentiate this server from the majority and the main points for the hardcore classification are:

  • No traders(100% craft).
  • Limited loot(low grade weapons, higher grades are very rare).
  • Limited 3rd person(when in combat or within a rapid vehicle).
  • Colder and prolonged periods of weather.
  • No canned food.
  • Elite Ai.
  • Infection zones.
  • No heli-lift(only one helicopter lifts and it is locked and protected by elite Ai).
  • Deadly zombies and hoards.
  • No auto-refuel.
  • No map markers or waypoints(unless in a military vehicle).

There are a few items granted upon spawning in:

  • Binoculars. These are included so that low end PC's can adjust their view distance.
  • Side-arm. This is to enable suicide in case of injury (or for the weak).
  • A can of beans (the only one on the map).
  • Single use bandage (caution - use it wisely).
  • A watch. Use a knife to break it into a compass.
  • You don't get a map.
  • You don't get a water bottle (rinse whiskey bottles at water sources to use).
  • You will freeze if you either don't find fire regularly or find enough clothes and burlap to craft canvas and a ghillie suit.
  • You will not find canned food (like other hardcore survival servers). You will have to hunt to stay alive or risk infection from unlabeled food/bio meat.

Industrial loot spawns remain untouched. It can take a few days to gather enough cinderblocks to build a structure. There is a trader but he is not Ai; he is a player. To trade you will have to rely on the players presence, and he too is relying on players to provide items to trade; gold is almost useless in this environment. Industrial items are always welcomed trade items. Most good industrial loot areas are across the border within the hostile southern Namalsk, and have Ai to consider.

I am not interested in guns or shopping; it is the hardcore player I am catering for. If you have any suggestions then please feel free to let me know. I'd appreciate constructive and informed observations rather than slander.

In addition I'd like to post a comment from the DayZ mod developer kichilron:

"Did see your server and I like some of the ideas, along with it being Namalsk - by far the best Survival-Map in my oppinion.

I can assure you that this server is sticking to true vanilla feeling and is one of the few out there."

Live. Die. Repeat.

Players start in the same place, unless your humanity is negative. PvP is permitted, though there is little to gain from killing survivors here, except notoriety.

Your journey starts on the shoreline, your dilapidated boat rests near a fire for comfort and an INFO stand providing the servers' features. From there it is entirely your choice where you go but be warned, the southern areas of Namalsk are ridden with hostile Ai. Some are simulating players and have limited loot. Others are part of the highly trained and well equipped military forces whose presence on Namalsk is unclear except that they will not tolerate infiltration of their zones. Tread carefully.

Hey guys, its about time that I found this thread and gave it a read. My name in Dayz is Shade and I am a mod for this amazing server. It has come to my attention that someone got "bored" while playing, that they found gear within a short amount of time and was well on their way to start their life. Let me give you a little bit of an explanation as to where I come in. I played Dayz with a group of friends and where ever we went we caused as much havoc as we could. We werent the best by far but we were pretty good at working together and making things turn in our favor. One day the group split so i decided to fine something that would test my strengths and destroy my weaknesses. I found this server back when it was a Cherno map and the hardest point about it was not killing everything i could find. This was months (if not years) ago and since then I have been working with Artyom on making this server harder and harder. Over the course of working with him I soon found myself to become almost an expert at dealing with the AI thrown against me in all sorts of engagements. Mainly i like to keep my distance and snipe at around 1100-1300 meters with my M110 with a NV scope though. So Artyom got the idea to move maps and make some adjustments to the AI. Now i cant get within 800 meters without being shot and from my old base location i couldnt even fly because of the fighter jet patrol. As far as loot, if you are extremely lucky then you can get "ok" gear within 30-45 minutes but good luck keeping that gear for very long, i hear there is a sniper that likes to kill anything that moves ;). But in all seriousness even though ive been playing for a long time and i know where things are, i generally have a hard time keeping my gear because ill try to roll up on a mission, or some of the wandering AI will murder me before i get to where i want to go. But, for those people that really want to push their limits, for those that want to really try to survive and who knows you might even end up hunting me and Artyom some day, I say welcome to you fine few. I hope to see you all on the server when it is up and running again, and i promise you this, its not like any other server you have ever played before. Ive been here from day 1 and ive watched it grow into the little hell hole it is today and i can say one thing: Artyom you did a damn fine job sir, congratulations.

P.S. Dont let negative comments dissuade you, try the servers you are interested in and they could be the best thing you could ever hope for.

I'd ask you to try it out regardless. You will not find a more authentic survival experience than what I'm offering. I adore DayZ. It's why I spend day after day coding, posting and building this community so that other survivalists can enjoy a true survival experience.

If you feel up for it I'd like to chat with you sometime. Skype: CartoonrBOY

I will. My buddy already was there, but I get a "missing item nails" login loop on Namalsk servers... gotta fix that first.

Never seen that error. Have you tried verifying your namalsk folder? It's around 850MB so it should take only 10-20 mins to download again if necessary. I would recommend bypassing DZC or DZL and using the batch file.

Batch file code:

  Quote

::Author: Snow [AGS]

@echo off
echo ================================================
echo FINALdayZ Server Join Batch
echo ------------------------------------------------
echo Author: Snow [AGS]
echo ================================================
echo JOINING SERVER IN .....
timeout 3

::===================================================
::Configuration| Edit these to the proper file paths

set arma2oapath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead
:: YOUR Arma 2 Directory
set arma2path=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2
:: Server IP
set IP=188.165.210.182

set PORT=2302
:: Required Mods
set MODS=@DayZ_Epoch;@DayZ_Namalsk;
::---> ==============================================

::===================================================
:: DO NOT EDIT ANYTHING BELLOW THIS LINE OR YOU WILL BREAK THIS FILE
::===================================================

start ""  "%arma2oapath%\ArmA2OA_BE.exe" 0 0 -skipintro -mod=%MODS% -noSplash -noFilePatching -world=empty -connect=%IP% -port=%PORT% "-mod=%arma2path%;expansion;"

@exit

Just make sure you check the file paths in the batch code, and edit to match yours if necessary.

Copy and paste this text into notepad and save it as .bat. Then run it. It will join the server from your desktop...

Best regards...ARTyom

I don't generally play 'PvP forbidden' servers simply on the principle that in the apocalypse anything goes (even at the expense of your fellow man if need be). but with that said, this actually sound epic enough to be worth a genuine shot :)

i'll be sure to come by this weekend m8

I totally agree with you. The server was configured that way, but I think with the elite Ai active it's too much to ask of players to cope with them and other players. If there is a desire for it I will revert back to anything goes as surely that is the point of DayZ.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've thought more about this issue, I made the decision to make it PvE incorrectly. In such an environment it's clear what the strategy is; PvE+PvP. If a player can kill players in Namalsk; they deserve to survive here however they see fit. They understand DayZ best.

Pretty much exactly my thoughts. I don't much care for camping near the spawn area as killing freshies is just gamey griefing- but a well planned ambush on players with good gear, rather your a lone wolf or a group can be a game changer. especially in a very hostile environment where any resources at all could make the difference. "survival of the fittest" as they say.

You gotta do what you gotta do, and no assault comes without risk. Especially if there are so important items which are so rare at the same time.

I think it makes some players more friendly and less KOS as you are in constant need of something.
