Let us repair Raincoats with Duct Tape

Recommended Posts

I think you should be able to patch Raincoats with Duct Tape. This should not, though, affect the actual appearance of the Raincoat by displaying patches of Duct Tape since you could just put the Duct Tape on the inside to reseal the coat.

Duct Tape has approximately 3,527,419 uses in real life, so I'd like to start seeing some implementation for this handy tool.

Duct tape is the greatest multi-purpose tool ever. This is a great idea.

Or even BETTER. Put in the waterproof duck tape from ARMA 3 Breaking Point and actually make it usable with raincoats otherwise duck tape is not that great against an onslaught of rain.

I'd rather have wholes in my jacket then borrowed duct tape from BP.

Who says the waterproof duct tape has to act the same as BP duct tape? SA could put it to much better use. Just because another game mimics it poorly doesn't mean this game will make it terrible. Besides I want ether see duct tape be put to better use or give variants that can do the job slightly better. Because if you have any experience with duct tape you know its terrible if drenched in water.

I'm implying towards the internal moaning that can occur within the modding community over who made what.  Lets just throw cans of flex seal in and call them malleable seal that way all bases are covered.

I agree.

If women don't find you handsome, they'll at least find you handy.

Vests should be repairable with duct tape. I've seen people in Afghanistan who found ways to destroy their IOTV vest and have to resort to using green duct tape to make their kit wearable.

Yes!

I also want Zip Ties. I would argue they are even more useful than duct tape, I don't go any where with out them.

A good example of their use, I went on a bike ride yesterday and got like 10 miles from home when the strap on my bag snapped off! I poked some holes through the bag with a screwdriver and "stitched" it back to the strap with 5 zip ties. Those things always come in handy.

Duck tape should be able to be used for a LOT of things, repairs to items like raincoats, backpacks, shoes, hats. It should also be required or able to be used to make splints, tape up wonds. This would make having a roll in the backpack almost a vital thing for everyone, just like it is for reals :)
